Lots of good info. The biggest things I saw so far were
Dynamic PCI:
Basically when you move the PCI outside the zone it starts to shrink and gets smaller the further you get from the zone. They said it's there to eliminate super long at bats with tons of fouls.
Dynamic PAR:
When pitching of you try to throw a pitch like a breaking ball high the par will be bigger making the pitch less accurate. They said this was to help eliminate the high sinker cheese.
They also said they decreased the accuracy and velocity of outlier pitches.I’m watching it now and they specifically say that the PCI is NOT a bat. I know that comes up all the time on the forums and they address it in the stream.
Yah I got a laugh when they mentioned that. So many people are convinced it is the bat and probably still won't change their minds
Yeah, I have seen SDS say this all the way back to 17 and people still get it wrong.
I made a note for myself of the video and time stamp so the next time someone brings it up I can reference it.
It’s a bat. Its what your aiming at the ball when your standing in the box taking oncoming pitches, also referred to as a hitting, where you swing a bat at a ball. It’s just an easy cop out for when the physics don’t make sense.
Yes you know what, you definitely know what the PCI stands for more than the development team who has never wavered from saying that it is NOT the bat.
It’s an easy cop out for non PCI homeruns by C grade Devs that just failed a live stream for their video game yet again. Or wait was that not a live stream because it was an embarrassment? You call things whatever you want, and the end of the day it’s the same thing. It’s a bat, and that was an embarrassment.
The whole “it’s not a bat” only started after these idiots started giving homeruns to people that couldn’t get the “plate coverage indicator” on a ball. Geez wonder what that stands for, what would you be covering the plate with? That thing your swinging? In you hands? Yup definitely not a bat.
