This game is a copy and paste of last years-- Pitchers will always get 20+ strikeouts a game, there is no small ball whatsoever, and there are random unexplainable errors in the infield. The check swing system is ABSURDLY BROKEN, and for some reason contact is more important of a stat this year than power. Ohtani can't get a hit to save his life, and he's the god [censored] cover athlete!! I understand he doesn't hit that well average-wise in real life, but come on, how are you going to LOWER his ratings? I wish this game was more enjoyable for casual players who can't sit around and play it all day and get used to how the hitting works. If I stop playing for a week I can't even compete with anybody, I get blown out every time. Pitching needs to be LESS OVERPOWERED! The pitches are wayyy too fast for anybody casual to react, especially high inside fastballs. Half the time you have to GUESS where the pitch is going before it is even thrown if a pitcher has outlier or something. I'm sick of raging at this terrible [censored] game, it makes 2k22 look like a mf masterpiece, and that game is utterly HORRIBLE. I'm glad I didn't preorder this game because it's absolutely atrocious.

You realize it’s a tech test and not the finished product, right?

    RIGHT?!?

I sure hope to god it isn't. This just feels like a smoother version of 21 with pitches having even more insane movement and unfairness.

In a weird way, the things you mentioned means that the MLB 21/22 are doing an accurate portrayal of real life baseball. And by that I mean the bastardized version of baseball that has existed the last 5 to 10 years. Batters trying to hit a HR on every pitch, pitchers throwing 100+ mph breaking pitches all the time, inflated strikeout totals, and any ball that's actually put in play becomes a victim of cartoonishly extreme shifts. As far as pitch recognition goes, i have 20/20 vision and I usually have to resort to swinging at every pitch and hope I get lucky. I never play against other people online, but from doing some of those rigged daily challenges in 21 (vs the cpu), cpu pitches broke way too far out of those after you started to swing, every pitch was some sort of breaking pitch (no good old fashioned 4-seam fastballs), and nothing was ever thrown anywhere near the center of plate, even if you somehow had a hitter's count.
