Such a thing as too realistic

I have no fun playing that game anymore. It's been like that for 18-19 and this one.
I understand that a certain number of players may want the game to be as realistic as possible, but it's still supposed to be a game first, meaning that you should be able to play it and have fun at the get go. Having fun means being able to be average or above after a while, without having to multi-tweak to correct for the imperfections of the game.
If you want to make it harder, fine tweak it. But I was pretty happy without the PCI or good/good perfect/perfect system and the meter to throw.
In the 17 version, that I still play and enjoy, mostly in online franchise mode, I play pure analog with stride, no power button and pure analog on defense at All star or HOF and even with the bugs I enjoy the game and it still feels realistic enough. Not perfect but fun to play. The players ratings and my timing suffice to make it realistic and fun enough.
In the 20 version, I now suck at hitting, pitching and fielding... Not to mention the ridiculous amount or fielding errors, mostly the first baseman being pulled off the bag 3-4 times a game, no matter what type of interface I use (pure analog, buttons etc).
Bottom line this game should be fun (NOT ARCADE) from the get go and you should have to tweak it to make it harder/more realistic if you will. Not the other way around.
That's my 2 cents... -
Oh good, we have an actual baseball player here, Analog with Stride...we're a dying breed buddy :). Keep at it bud with the hitting and pitching, usually take me a full Spring Training to get use to hitting and pitching at Legend with pitch speeds maxed out. As for the crappy throwing and errors those usually come about a month and a half after release with patches, its a SDS thing. They already sorta made the pitch speeds faster so we just gatta wait for the rest to be fixed.

17 was a great game. Will go down as one of the best ever.
There is another game on the market if one wants total realism (text based game pc/mac).

Strat-o-matic FTW.

Thx. I don't know why anyone would play any other way than pure analog with stride and pure analog on defense but I know that many do. Will give it a couple of other chances b4 my final judgement

I still run 3 online franchises and even with the bugs I still find it really enjoyable and have lots of fun. Batting averages anywhere between .250 and .310 globally, ERAs average around 2.50/4.00 and I feel like the players abilities matter but normally i.e. a 40 HR player will hit between 30 and 40, not 80 because I hit "perfect-perfect"...

Naaa.."Actual Baseball Player" are the players and their respective cards.. Hey im.not gonna trash your stride choice for hitting like the other guys..When you talk about it I've noticed that the way you are forming your points think you are a better player actually scratch that an "actual baseball player" () cause you use the stride method. Word of advice though, in life dont carry yourself around like that junior!! Not a good character look. If you're like that about a a GAME from my experience and being an excellent judge of character ( I dont judge, figure of speech) cause I always sit back and watch the details of a person. How they walk , talk and actions says alot about who that person is.. Caught enough posts, the stride argument stands out to know you are 100 pct like that in life. Also means that the holier or better than you aspect you give enough shows a huge character flaw, the exact opposite of what you give off actually..Doubtful , lacks confidence and tentative is more your flow..If you stopped thinking like that , like everything else in life you will gain all of those qualities..Besides mad lame..Therapy session is over .Get off my couch now!! This was pro bono. You dont have to go home , but you got to get the fuc!> outta here..

Cause people that don't play Analog Stride hitting and Analog defense likes pressing buttons and aiming at a target like its a hunting game. Who knows maybe in 50 years actual baseball players will wear VR helmets with a PCI and have to mentally move that target with a implanted microchip in their brains to move their body to swing at a pitch :). Maybe we are the casual noobs bud

Real baseball player lol. You’re playing a video game. Nothing about this makes you a real ball player
-
Don't wanna start an argument about the different ways to play the game but "real baseball player" as you probably understood only meant that by using the thumbsticks in all aspects of the game it feels like you're actually the one batting or throwing as opposed to pushing a button or using a gauge to influence the type of throw.

Oh wow, someone with common sense.
-
Real baseball player because of stride? That's crazy. Hitting with the analog sticks is doing half of the at bat yourself....you're timing the swing while the cpu is aiming your swing smh
-
Again, just said that for those of us using the thumbsticks instead of buttons it feels like we're more involved, since we are "swinging" the bat. Of course, like in any video game, the computer is involved. Anyway, whichever type one prefers is fine. The main point of this discussion is the quality/fun of the game, not advocating for one type over another.
