Early Season Regrets, Anyone?

I have one glaring, soul-crushing mistake that I have made this year and that is not buying Nate Pearson when he was selling for like 43K. I remember thinking to myself, "that card deserves to go for so much more. I need to buy him ASAP!" Of course, I constantly put it off and now he's much more than I want to spend.
If I had him, I'd be able to lock in the 5 diamond prospects I have in Michael Kopech, Nick Madrigal, Luis Robert, Forrest Whitley, and of course, Nate Pearson assuming I'd have him. Instead, I'm considering selling off Whitley and Robert because I know I won't want to lock in 10 cards to get MacKenzie Gore.
Spending 500k stubs on packs. I know I have an addiction.

Selling my SE Diamonds right away, thinking think would drop to 5K within a few days.
Buyimg the Gold Jump Start pack. All 5 that I got, at the time, we're going for around 3-5K. Now they're 1500-2000.
'Wasting' 20K on the AL West Showdown and having nothing to show for it other than stress.
Accidenrly locking in the current Event Reward Diamonds. I got them for around 15K each and accidentally locked them in. Plan was to ait in them and hope they were needed foe some kind of huge collection and see if they jumped in price.

Everyone seems to have Stub related ones. I'm surprised there aren't more people saying lock-ins/collections or buying a card at a high price.
-
Buying a 50 pack bundle coming away with 4 golds. Probably 12-15k out of that pack. I could have purchased a few really good players. Oh, well. Haven't bought a 50 pack in 3 years and won't do it anytime soon.

Choosing the Pudge evolution card after struggling with his card last year
-
Trusting that SDS wouldn't f*ck up the game
-
Bought a 20 pack bundle and getting 1 gold out of it. Could have use that to buy a couple more LS diamonds to further my collections.
1 thing I did right was working the market in the 1st week and getting enough to buy Trout. -
buying 5 headliner packs for that gagne - in the end wound up buying him with stubs and cost me double the price as a result !!!
-
Choosing RP Morton. Not really that useful with pitching this screwed up.
-
Same as everyone else that has bought packs.......I keep saying I'm done w packs but they are my weakness!
-
Choosing Reyes over Sanchez. Accidentally locking in Jimmy Rollins.
Locking in Cole (loved his finest) and locking in Scherzer (hated his finest.
-
Choosing Pudge evolution - When that Posey is available from Silver 1....
-
- Also not buying Nate Pearson (I’m a Jays fan and thought about doing it within the first hour of release, but didn’t pull the trigger)
- Taking Eddie and not Eckersley in Evolution
- Playing MTO to get Vladdy Jr. It’s actually really good, but it’s a ton of hours and the card is pretty underwhelming.
-
Headliner packs can't help myself.... and I'm sure I'll get more tomorrow. I just don't learn but than again maybe this is the time I pull Trout lol

Is Rollins not any good?

He’s great! But will be replaceable eventually. I just did a select all and locked him in. Having 20-30k could have gone a long way in a few weeks.

buying any packs after I got that Rollins
Yeah, the first two days I pulled Jose Altuve, Stephen Strasburg, Freddie Freeman, and "The Call" Ritual (the one that sells for around 50K).
Since then? I think my best pull has been a silver 79 overall Dimelson Lamet.

If there's a few takeaways from this thread:
- Be wary of who you lock in
- If a player seems like a bargain, pick him up immediately and hold onto him
- Don't lock in those Flashback/Legend cards until we get a good view of the landscape of what will be available
