En route to becoming the fourth Blue Jays slugger to win the AL Hank Aaron Award, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tied for the MLB lead with 48 homers and finished first in the AL in on-base percentage (.401) and slugging (.601). No MLB player had more runs scored (123) or total bases (363) than Guerrero.NL
Bryce Harper earned his second career NL Hank Aaron Award after leading the Majors with a .615 slugging percentage and a 1.044 OPS while batting .309. And you still couldn’t win the WC.
Really though, that’s crazy. Add a bat or two and some pitching, and you guys are scary. (As a Cubs fan, I rarely admit they are good. Lol) -
The bats were there towards the end of the season they just did not show up in the wildcard game. They did face some pretty good pitching in that game and it still went into the late innings.
I'm with you though in that we need a more consistent and healthy pitching staff. Although I hope Waino has another great year you should not really expect it at his age. Flaherty is coming off a seasons worth of injuries. Beyond that the staff is just a bunch of question marks in my opinion.
