Is MLB planning on limiting the shift next season?
I miss the days in which infield athleticism (i.e. Ozzie Smith) was actually relevant.

Your are asking with REAL actual MLB or within MLBTS ????

In actual MLB it's the Manager's call with when & how often to use a Shift. It's not an issue that makes the game longer. If anything it may speed up the game because Shifts are more successful most times then not & results in outs.

Within MLBTS you can disable Auto Shift within the settings & only chose when you want to do a Shift & how done & how often.

I am referring to IRL MLB.
That post season "flex D" by everyone, was pretty prevelent and it takes away a bit of the excitement. Any time saved by the shift, is not worth it...at least to me.

I don’t blame the defense. They’re playing the percentages. I blame the one dimensional hitters we have in the game now. It’s pull or bust.

Teams could never shift a guy like Tony Gwynn or Jeter type hitters that could hit the ball anywhere in the field.

It’s kind of pathetic seeing big leaguers’ knees buckle when they see a shift on knowing they’re beaten even before they swing the bat

It would be extremely dumb if they outlaw shifting. Theres never been rules for areas where fielders have to play outside of the pitcher and catcher. Completely agree with @Hikes83_PSN

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Agree 100%.

The league wants to see more excitement and more offense. Look at the NBA, NFL, NHL. They all have made changes to increase offense and they have worked.

I agree 100% that baseball doesn’t need this. Players, instructors and coaches need to teach better hitting fundamentals. Stop feeding this homer run or bust approach.
