Moments have always been bad. Nothing is different now.
I've mostly enjoyed this year's game but the burnout has really set in. I am going to hang in there through the finest program (Nov. 19) and that'll be that.
If I get '22 it'll be around playoff time next season, hopefully on a decent sale. I don't care about keeping up with a whole year's content anymore.
Not 100% saying you won't, but a lot of people say that, and don't really mean it, it's just the burnout talking. I'd wager the majority of the time that gets said, the person still gets it on release week.
Oh I have no doubt that I'll get the itch come next March, but unless there are confirmed/verified gameplay improvements I think it'll be easy enough to ignore.

This is my first year ever playing DD from the start, and although I have to give kudos to SDS for providing so much content (too much?) AND for making DD more accessible to offline players...
I can't see myself doing this again. The thought of ALL THE GRIND to get cards that won't matter when 22 releases just guts me. There's no permanent takeaway.
I'll say it again -- If SDS found some way to create a legacy binder so that what I collected this year carried over into next year...well, THEN I'd be screwed.
But it's too much for a complete start-over. I'll take my life back next year.

I was doing the 'Show Them Who's Boss' trophy in '20 for a friend who couldn't beat a Starter Showdown final boss, lol. I had over 200K stubs. Awards Griffey, MVP Trout, Wagner, Sig Larry Walker, a monstrous card!, and some other dang good cards. I was like 'why can't I use these in '21?' That would be cool, but they just sit there.....

There’s a variety of reasons why being able to carry over cards from previous years wouldn’t work, both from a business and gameplay perspective.
Personally, I enjoy the grind of starting over every year and don’t see it as a bad thing at all.

I'm not getting Thome bc I just don't care enough to. I got the Yadi evolution for my Cardinals squad and that's good enough for me.
I have not even finished that yet.
I have not played in over a week, probably my longest break and it may last a while if I even go back at all. Not sure if there is any content that will drag me back, and that is not because I have not enjoyed it or think that it sucks. 6 months is a good run for me and i have simply burned myself out some.
Exactly how I feel, barely played at all the last few weeks. I just wanted that Yadi awards card. Thome is def not worth the hassle. Far too many LH power 1Bs and LH power bats

Exactly, I wont even get the game if they do te same lazy port for PS5 like they did this year. With the XBox money they are getting there is no reason for another '21 format... more unis, more legends and better gameplay. No more handing over $$ to EA Jr.

I've been playing less this year, but the Braves WS run has got me playing more again. Still, I find myself drifting more towards Metroid Dread lately.
I recently played Far Cry 6, just pre-ordered Guardians of The Galaxy and plan on getting Forza Horizon 5 so I don't see me finding much time for The Show for a while.
I wanna try phsyconauts, castle crashers, fallout new Vegas, and gta V. Get that I’m late to these games but they look great
Get Borderlands Handsome Collection and Borderlands 3, you'll thank me later. Some of the best replay value ever, and at this point you can get great deals for a TON of content

Or any of the POTM cards, I am not fighting with the fu*ked up hitting in this game, moments are even more unbearable than ever before.
Yes, oh so unbearable to have to hit a home run on rookie. How will we live?
Not once did I say they were hard, they are made unbearable by the randomness of hitting right now, i passed the moment on my first try but i watched two perfect flyballs in the top of the zone go to the track while my third ab i hit a no doubt hr below the zone at the bottom of the pci with an early swing. Which is something i explained in a reply earlier in the post,I guess reading is harder for some than others.

I'm not saying that we should be able to USE them in the next game, just SEE them in a legacy binder. Then players with long histories could get loyalty rewards. So gameplay's not an issue there.
Business, maybe, since players might be contractually unavailable certain years or since such a program might incentivize people to fire up older versions, thus paying less attention to the current one.
But it's a thought.

I mean if you just want to look at them, then nothing’s stopping you from loading up the previous version and doing just that. I really don’t see a point in having them in the next year’s game just so you can look at them.

I was thinking the same. I was on '20 for a bit yesterday. I had some really good cards, with the Sig Larry Walker & MVP Trout being the best

To each his own. It's basically the same concept as having a real baseball card collection. I'm an RPG guy, so "finishing quests" and collecting things is my itch to scratch, more so than merely playing baseball.

Ive been playing some remake of FF4 again. Just keep giving us this stuff and we will be set. There isnt anything good that original these days. So just make some good remakes.

If you want to compare them to actual baseball cards, then each game is essentially it’s own binder for that year. If you want to see your cards from MLB The Show 19, then you open up the MLB The Show 19 “binder” and look at them. You could even play with them again if you felt like it.
