Its his Sig card with him on the Mets. He couldnt throw over 95 was he was an old Met. Just another stupid decision, I guess to balance the cards teams have, by SDS to make his sig a Met lol. But he did develop a good change up later in his career. When he relied pretty much on heat before NY.
But hey, Pedro is still very cheap.

Agreed. He wasn't in his prime as a Met, but he did make an AS game at Yankee Stadium. Forgot what year.

What are you talking about? When Billy Wagner was pitching for the Braves (His final season) Wagner was still approaching 100 mph with his fastball. It wasn’t every pitch like when he was with the Astros but he hit triple digits on several occasions that year and routinely sat 96-97. So unless he was injured with some sort of elbow issue as a Met he was throwing harder than 95.

It wasn’t every pitch like when he was with the Astros but he hit triple digits on several occasions that year and routinely sat 96-97. So unless he was injured with some sort of elbow issue as a Met he was throwing harder than 95.
He may have touched 100 at times with his fastball for the Braves, but he clearly wasn't averaging 100 mph for Atlanta in his final season. And his velocity was down, in the 95-96 mph range on average, for his time with the Mets

Wow dude, you just validated my whole point. I said his fastball was still approaching 100 in his final season with the Braves and routinely sat around 96-97. Well your linked says his average fastball velocity was 96.2. Which by my knowledge is between 96-97 mph. And guy I was replying to said he couldn’t get his velocity above 95 as a Met which based on the links you provided is simply not true. According to your figures his first season as a Met saw him averaging over 96 on his fastball and second year saw him a tick below average velocity of 96 at 95.8 which is well above 95 mph. Not sure what point you’re trying to make except to be argumentative.

In all honesty, I misread your post at first. By the time I re-read it afterward and saw you had essentially said what I proved about touching 100 but averaging 96-97, it was already posted and I was closing out of the site anyway. My fault for not reading closely enough in the first place

Mike PiazzaIMO: This was an excellent 1st Inning for the game. Not only did we get a dominant SP (for the time) but we also got a power-hitting catcher and a stud in the outfield that could still be used as a bench piece to this day. My favorite card out of this was Kenny Lofton though.
2nd Inning:
Lee Smith
Jason Bay
Don MattinglyIMO: I knew who I was going to take the moment these were shown and it wasn't even close to a difficult choice; Lee Smith was (and still kind of is) an incredible right-handed reliever. I had a ton of success with him and I'm not going to lie, it kind of hurt when I moved on to better and more fun cards to use. I don't think I used Bay or Mattingly outside of Showdown.
3rd Inning:
Troy Glaus
Dennis Eckersly
Grady SizemoreIMO: This was a strong rebound from the 2nd Inning program, at least that's what I thought initially. Once again, I decided to go with the reliever which was Dennis Eckersly this time around -- as he was someone I've done well with in prior years. Unfortunately, this Eckersly never clicked for me. Luckily, I came to that conclusion before locking him in. I ended up skipping this Inning program and just took the Stubs. After using all three cards, I think the best card in this was actually Grady Sizemore, but Glaus is no slouch himself.
4th Inning:
Christy Matthewson
Wander Franco
Eddie MurrayIMO: This was a very underrated set of cards looking back. I don't think you could've gone wrong with any of them, but even with that said, I went with Wander Franco and never looked back. For whatever reason, I raked with Wander early on but as time wore on, I couldn't hit with him to save my life despite my efforts to keep him in my lineup. I will say that after using Murray's card for a pretty good spell for a few different grinds that he has one of the best swings in the game. I always seem to gravitate towards Jim Thome or Frank Thomas as my 1B but Murray certainly left an impression with me this year.
5th Inning:
Nolan Ryan
Vladimir Guerrero
Joe MorganIMO: I know we tend to err on the side of being hyperbolic in discussions on these boards but I genuinely believe that the 5th Inning program in this year's game may be the three best cards we've ever gotten in a single Inning program, ever. Vladimir Guerrero ended up being my favorite card (and not to mention, probably still my most productive hitter) from this inning but Nolan Ryan is locked into my rotation and that Joe Morgan is one of the best hitting infielders in the game.
6th Inning:
Matt Kemp
Pedro Martinez
George BrettIMO: This was a tough one for me as I have always loved Matt Kemp's swing (and this year's card was no different) but the timing of this card releasing meant I didn't get enough time with him that I would've preferred with so many OP new outfielders coming out soon after. So, ultimately I think my favorite card from this program is Pedro Martinez. Ya know, though.. I can say the same thing for Pedro that I said about Kemp in that better cards came quick and didn't give me enough time to use him.
7th Inning:
Hank Aaron
Tony Gwynn
Spencer TorkelsonIMO: I took a break from The Show and in turn, this is the only Inning program I never got around to unlocking the boss since they started doing these in MLB The Show 19. With that said, I didn't get to use these enough to determine who I liked best.
8th Inning:
Willie Mays
Ernie Banks
Chris SaleIMO: I just unlocked my boss card yesterday and I went with Chris Sale. As a White Sox fan who never missed a start when he was with us, I always make it a point to get his best card each year. Unfortunately, that meant passing on Willie Mays for the time being, but that also meant I didn't have to drop an absurd amount of Stubs on him as a Flawless BR reward for once, too.

I was excited to buy Wagner. First time I used him was in a conquest game on veteran. It was against the Brewers and Narvaez was up. First pitch fk HR. I don’t think that has every happened to me with a brand new card against the CPU
