I just reviewed my playing time for the last six versions of MLB The Show (there’s no data for 15 or prior it seems) and it shows up as follows:

    16: 746 hours
    17: 876 hours
    18: 742 hours
    19: 850 hours
    20: 575 hours

    and… wait for it…

    21: 117 hours

Admittedly probably about 25% of that time is idle time before it goes into sleep mode.

I’m predominantly a non-DD player and have found 21 to be a letdown. So much so that I reinstalled 17 and am playing that instead. And instead of playing The Show for 10 hours a week (which is what I did since TS15) I’ve lost interest and am probably putting in maybe 3. And that’s total hours on all games, not just The Show.

My question to other long term players is what do your hours of play numbers look like? Have they dropped significantly this year or over the last few? Have you found that The Show 21 has killed your motivation to switch on your console?

Now this is one of my first years of the show. I have 18 and 19 but it wasn’t me playing them.
But I am a long term player of NBA 2K and these stats will be surprising
NBA 2k19: 364 hrs (I started at the end of the year)
2k20:1287 hrs (Covid and I played the game every day pretty much)
But 2k21, I played since launch at took breaks from it during the new year and endgame. Only about 400 hrs. Surprising, I thought I played the game a lot more. I can’t really speak of 2k22 yet since that game is early in its life cycle. But I feel it’ll be down even lower now that I have MLB. 2k22 is not flawed in any way. But it’s just not fun to play. By this time last year I had 170 offline wins. I haven’t even gotten half that. It’s sad, although all 20 21 and 19 and much worse games to most people. I’d rather play them... too bad the servers on those games will shut down in the year or so.
Edit: Sorry for bad grammar, I had to type this on my phone in a rush
