Why is do the pitchers throw harder on old gen?

I’ve been playing since April and have played on both new and old gen consoles but it is significantly harder to hit in old gen. Fastballs come in looking like they are 110 on old gen at 96 mph and new gen makes 102 look like 90 on old gen. The old gen also has some pitches that move only move or slow down right before the ball can be hit. Change ups, sinkers and splitters are the worst and every once in a while a curve or slider does the same and it is near impossible to make contact on. Is this done on purpose or is this just because of the slower download and upload times old gen consoles have compared to the new ones.

If I play on next gen I should be in World Series by that logic. dang I need to shell out that 700 dollars

Haha I take it this is online?..online pitch speeds at slow AF...the real men play offline at max pitch speeds on Legend.
