I haven’t gotten to watch a Yankees World Series in my life

If only the Yanks had one more win and homefield. Could have made a difference. https://youtu.be/z0Mge8P9mAY

Honestly, I believe in sharing the wealth.
Enough of the Yankees and their arrogant fans.
I follow a few on Twitter and at times wonder how can one root for a team that has won so many, while others haven't had a sniff?
It is joyous to see a starved franchise win.
That said, I hope Milwaukee or Tampa do it, finally.
27 is enough. Relive their WS victories on video, because nowadays you play 3 to 4 rounds before you make WS, to use a Show term. It's not easy.
So, go Rays. Go Brewers. Fear the -
I have no sympathy especially what Yankees fans said to Zack Greinke. Will never respect that fan base again.

Oh boo hoo. I’m 37 and have yet to see the Orioles in the World Series.
But you did get to witness the greatness that is Chris Davis

I believe it was Game 4 in 2019. They were heckling him about his mental illness and his mom.

Yeah the first 27 years of my life as a Red Sox fan were pretty rough.
But the last 17 years have been pretty sweet!
True!
I actually went to game one of the 1975 WS with my grandfather and watched the Reds take batting practice. Pretty awesome. Then Luis Tiant shut them down. But... they lost in 7.
Then, 1986, game 6, I'm in a bar with all my friends, the place is packed, everyone is screaming... and the ball goes through Buckner's legs. The place went from bedlam to dead silence in a second.
But, since 2004, it's been much better...

The 1980s were rough for Yankee fans so I feel your pain (and it could be worse). But thankfully they had a good run to close out the 90s so here's hoping they figure out how to win big games again.

2009 I was a 6 year old so I didn’t get to stay up and watch the full game. Ironically enough, 2010-2011 was around the years I started watching every Yankee game. I’m now 18 and haven’t gotten to watch my team win a World Series.
Every year it’s the same thing, the same pain and heartbreak. Y’all act like all Yankee fans are spoiled, and it’s just not true. I’m an adult now and haven’t seen my team do anything important in the playoffs live. It’s the same heartbreak every single year.
I get it, but believe me, the Yankees will always be an institution of winning. They hit a major lull in the 80s and early 90s and came back as the best dynasty from 96-03 ( 4 WS championships and 6 pennants) in my lifetime. They will be back. And once they win it all, they'll just keep winning. Still, it sucks to watch them fall short.
Institution of winning? I watch them get to the playoffs to do nothing year after year. Those days are over. George Steinbrenner’s team was an institution of winning, I didn’t get to enjoy any of that
The Yankees have lost more world series than any other team has won. I live in San Diego man. That is the epitome of losing. 0 professional sports championships in human history. Luckily the weather is awesome and the girls are beautiful so we are easily distracted. But the Yankees losing in the playoffs for a decade or so is hardly a cause for concern.
I get your frustration. But the Yankees will retool the offense and I'm sure within a few years will be back in the series. Meanwhile the Padres will be passing out a blinged out medallion 8 times a year to Eric Hosmer whilst another unknown manager quietly collects and defers to heir Preller.
You beat me to the punch on this one man. A Yankee fan complaining about their team not winning is a bit comical to a San Diego sports fan. If he was living in San Diego at his age, he would have gotten to see his baseball team make the playoffs once, last year, in a 60 game season! Not only that, but he would have watched as his football team skips town to San Diegos rival city, LA. I love San Diego and have lived here all my life. I love all of San Diegos sports teams and I hate to call us the epitome of loosing, but we certainly have had enough of it.

44 year old Sox fan here too!! Loved all the players you mentioned.
I even remember the Rich Gedmans and Marty Barretts.

I'm a devout Yankees fan in my mid 40's. I was talking to my sons about this exact thing this morning. I was born in 76, so I missed the 77 and 78 titles. I was still too young to remember the 81 series loss to the Dodgers. They didn't win a World Series until 1996 when I was 20... I hold that series and team in such high regard. My father who played semi-professionally in Puerto Rico and was huge fan passed away in 1993. One of my biggest regrets is never getting to share a Yankees World Series victory with him... I didn't even get to celebrate a Yankees playoff victory. My oldest boy was born in September of 2009 so he was only a few months old the last time the Yankees won the World Series. I can't wait to really share a World Series moment with him when they (hopefully) finally win again!
-
Yet you still flex "27 Rings" huh?
-
At least I have 87’ and 91’ but I’m not expecting another before I croak.
-
I grew up a hardcore Astros fan and all they did was let me down year after year throughout the 90's. Then they won the WS after I moved on. What a bunch of jerks.
I really wanted Biggio and Bagwell to get a WS in 2004(?) but it just wasn't in the cards...
-
Not to sound cold but I find New York and Boston fans complaining about any sort of winning droughts or just not winning in general to be just so precious.

Ok, perhaps the epitome of losing was a bit harsh haha. We get to claim Tony Hawk and Shaun White. And despite a really frustrating year, I am hopeful the Padres address these issues and bounce back.
Don't get me started on the Chargers 🤯🤯🤯 .
But like you said, our city is amazing for so many other reasons, it's hard to be too mad.
as for this post, It's a bummer not being able to share a title with father and son. My Grandpa was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan from Bedford Stuy and would always tell me about the glory days of the 40s and 50s. It would have been nice to see his reaction last year when the bums finally won again after 33 years. That would have been the only positive hahaha.
You and your son will have your Yankees title or 3 I have no doubt. Just stop trading for guys like Joey Gallo :).

It’s funny that as a Yankee fan you think you are entitled to the World Series.
