Lol. This TA is really going to get interesting with new guys going into the lineup and how my bench is going to set up. The Big Hurt is an instant starter over Papi and Vlad. Honus is really going to be fun. Larkin looks solid. Finally will get Betts so he needs a place. Biggio or Pudge at catcher. Sadly I think I will be having an Irish wake for my guy Trea Turner tomorrow night.
The problem I'm running into is I am also interested in those players you mentioned, the problem? They are all righties, I gotta figure out how to get more lefties in
My best Lefty is Baines and I will add Duke to my lineup.

I'm currently using Brock and Ortiz as my lefties, 97 Conforto as a platoon with 97 Teoscar Hernandez. All 3 will probably go though once I get the TA cards

I took Soriano out in May, glad you did well with him though. I'm gonna take chipper out of the lineup for sheffield though

Dearly beloved,
We are gathered here today to lay to rest our brother Alphonso Soriano.
Since the second week of the Show, he has manned 2nd base or every outfield slot. A man of culture, a man of class, one of speed, power, defense, and arm strength. A true five tool player.
But tonight we commit him to the binder, where he will be reunited with his many brothers like Jackie Robinson and Roberto Clemente.
Time marches forward as do overalls, and just because he will no longer be with us, we want to thank him for his contributions to our cause.
Thank you, Soriano. You will be missed.
Is there anyone you want to say goodbye to? Feel free to add your own.
Still use Soriano and Buxton. It makes me happy having the defense and feels good hitting bombs with them.

I hear ya. I keep Chipper in the lineup just to get some balance. I miss Mantle from last year. Also could use a new Griffey or Babe. But a majority of the other big names, Trout, Tatis, etc are righties. Im actually getting decent at hitting righty vs righty. Im still lost lefty vs lefty.
I used to be solid lefty on lefty previous years and soft right on right, but I rarely find myself in lefty on lefty matchups this year and have gotten rusty.

Ortiz to slow bad defense and worst part I do not hit well with him

I hope I only face lefties from now on, because almost all of my lefties/switch hitters are about to get retired -- POTM Votto will get benched for Frank, Posada will get benched for Gary Carter (or possibly Pudge), and if the Giants TA4 turns out to be Mays then TA3 Matt Olson (who has been in RF for me) will get benched for Mays. And I'm going to have to find somewhere to put Honus, because TN Tim Anderson is my SS for the rest of the year.
Thank goodness for George Brett (and Rod Carew eventually, I hope).

If you have not tried Baines you should, People like to pitch him down and in and that is where I do the most damage with him for a 2b or a HR, If it is up in the zone hits well to the gaps. For me been really good. I am not a WS level player.

That's my current plan, but that will displace Wander (who is my last remaining switch hitter). Oh well... I'm no good at this game anyway so I'd rather lose with Frank and Carter and Mays than lose with Votto, Posada, and Olson.

3B is always an option. for me he will be my SS.

George Brett has been one of my favorite cards since 19, so I think I've gotta stick with him at 3B. I think my infield is going to be Frank, Honus, Tim Anderson, Brett, and Carter, but the outfield is still up for grabs... best case scenario for me would be if Mantle, Mays, and Gwynn are among the remaining unrevealed cards. So that actually wouldn't be the worst thing ... 2 lefties and a switch hitter. And when Carew is finally released, he'll probably take over for Honus and provide a bit more R/L balance.
-
My infield will be Carter, Frank, J Robinson I have him at level 5 but I am thinking of going Wagner at 2b and Rollins at SS, Keeping Chipper at 3rb level 4. I seem to always go back and put Baines back in my lineup, Snider will be in my OF, I Hit well with Kiner to. Mantle will replace someone as well as Mays when they get released and Frank will be on my Bench when Gehrig is released.
