Austin Riley 78?!?!?

Explain to me how Austin Riley playing the way he has since the all star break is not at least a gold??? It’s embarrassing how bad SDS is at player evaluation. His stats have him arguably as the best 3rd basemen in the league this year. Fix this SDS. NOW!

June. Look at his June.

Look at stats from 2 months ago?? How about look at his overall stats or his stats from July and august absolutely on fire. Like I said his stats have him arguably the best third baseman in the game this year and it’s absolutely ridiculous that he is a 78. You can make no argument for him being a silver.

Player ratings are partially determined by an average of a player's last three seasons. I did a quick Google search and it looks like his stats were pretty underwhelming in 2019 and 2020.

This.
Although it's obvious that SDS applies this "rule" at its discretion.

The 3 year stat thing holds him back.
The timeline is to prevent "recency bias" and keep the investing players on their toes.
Another head scratcher? Adam Wainwright. I have just over 1700 of him. He has been a BEAST as of late.

It is the three season average issue, but I would be lying if I said I did not believe that they tweak those numbers for their pet players (or players that they know that a lot of their player base wants to own)
For example, Vlad Jr's 3-year stats in no way warrant a 92 live series

The fact that his defense is at the common level is a crime. This season he is 6 out of 12 qualified 3B in both Fielding % and DWAR. Dude has a Cannon for an arm too. Is he a gold glove/top defensive 3b in the game, no. Is he one of the worst, not even close.
Yes, I am a biased Braves fan and No I don't have a bunch of his cards stashed away.

Fernando Tatis is another example. Diamond defense? Lololol .934 Fielding %

That’s cool did you see he played half of 2019 and 2020 was a short season so his average for the 3 seasons he has played is still at least hold worthy.

So I’m his case would make sense to go off a average of his last 3 years. Riley was called up in 2019 and was really hot then cold. 2020 was a short season which was tough on a lot of great players. Now this season has played more games than any other season and is on fire. I don’t see a good excuse or reason he isn’t a good and I won’t be convinced otherwise bc it just isn’t there. He at bare minimum should be a 80.
