Does anyone use the sound of an approaching pitch as an aid to timing up your swings?
I don't believe so, but then again I hit a lot better with the volume up or a headset. I can not play nearly as well without the sound on.
It's not a good strategy, but I swing when I hear the ball hit the catcher's mitt.
For me, and I’m no expert, I try to synchronize it with the moment the ball would strike the bat. Doesn’t always work but I have had success with it.
