Who all watched Chris Bassitt take one to the head? Hope he’s okay. The sound was nasty
I’m a White Sox fan and live in the Chicagoland area, so I was watching it live on TV. And it was ugly.
So, thankfully this doesn’t happen very often, because if it did they might actually consider putting a fence in front of the pitching mound like they do for batting practice.
Pitchers always have the riskiest position on the field. Back in the late 80s perhaps early 90s, a California angel pitcher , I think it was, as they were known at the time, named Charlie Moore got hit in the forehead and died from the injury. So if they were going to put up a fence, they probably would have done it by now.
