Are you good at Ranked/Events?

Not really. I usually play offline, so conquest and showdown is what I’m good at.

You’ll win a few and when your ratings starts to go higher you’ll see more WS icons and 12-0 banners and get shelled most likely

This is my first year and the longer the year has gone...the less interest I have had in Ranked. Have done a lot of offline, but the past few months I have done a lot of Events and BR. I have grown to like them both a lot and I think they both can be a great way to get better at the game. There just isn't the pressure of worrying about your ranking. I also love to play a variety of opponents. Being new to the game it helps me to play players worse than me, the same as me and better than me. I learn from all of those situations. As for tips for BR....
There are probably a lot of youtube videos out there on drafting, but if you are good at pinpoint and can keep hitters off balance...you can get by with not the greatest pitchers. My best pitchers are normally silvers and high bronzes. I never use diamonds on my pitchers and rarely use a gold. Also, due to the three inning nature of BR, you can get a LOT out of your bullpen. You will often see guys start relievers and use them for multiple innings. When I draft pitchers, I choose the best pitcher regardless on if they are starters or relievers.
As with anything in this game, patience at the plate is key. Your opponent at times will likely not be using the best pitcher (just like you). Don't let them get away with feeding you out of the zone. Make them give you the pitch you want and capitalize with your solid hitters. Also, it really helps to have a decent bench bat or two, because that one or two at bats that the pitcher's slot comes up will likely be key.

Also to go along with the above poster, pitch mix of your pitcher is pretty important too. Try to get guys with at least a sinker or cutter. Also I wouldn't go into it with a mindset of trying to go 12-0. Just try to use it to improve and work on your skills. When I first started this year I would be very happy with just getting 2-3 wins per draft and am now getting some of 4-6 wins so it has definitely helped.

2x flawless here. BR is all about patience and strike zone awareness. If you're working pitchers deep into counts, dropping their confidence, etc. You're gonna have success. If you swing at everything they throw, even if you're making good contact, it'll be a quick 3 inning 9 AB game.

Thanks everyone.

Don’t worry if you lose your first or second game. Usually your rating will drop you into an easier pool of players. I tend to rip 5-8 wins every entry. Unless I don’t like my team.
Don’t worry about drafting great starters. You don’t need to use starting pitchers if you don’t want to.
Try to mix speed and power with your position players with a greater emphasis on outfielder speed.
Load up on relievers. Draft bull pen guys you like, there are some decent bronzes and silvers. I spend a good amount of silver to gold picks on the bull pen.
I try to keep my diamond picks as batters. Draft bench guys that have good power and contact against one side. You can get some bronzes and silvers that hit really well against either lefties or righties. Generally they won’t be good against both.
These are just some tips that have helped me in BR over the years.

Getting to 12-0 in my opinion is impossible, but this year they made it easier for the average player to obtain the reward by grinding stats in BR games.
Very nice improvement from years past in my opinion -
