Pinpoint Pitching with Felix, Degrom, and Cabrera is just too overpowered. Its just not fun to hit anymore...Would much rather lose 7-6 than 2-1...
-
I agree with you bud.. games above all star this year are so boring! I can literally play 1 RS game and I’m done for the day
-
You know it’s funny, I’ll stress about who to have in my lineup, but it really doesn’t matter in ranked. At the end of the day, I’ll have between 0 and 3 runs, have between 2-7 hits, and I’ll win or lose based on who gets the better animations. I really think ranked should be the three inning games. 98% of my ranked games come down to the last three innings anyway, and are decided by one or two runs. I will say though that I did get blown away in my last ranked game 6-1 or 6-2 or something like that. But generally it’s a one run game.

i would not want 3 inning games...sometimes it takes me to the 3rd inning or more to figure out my opponents pitching tendencies.

Rainmaker, is this you?
-
i mean i had a game end 12-11 the other day it was a stressful but really fun game. this year its all about pitching you have to get good at pitching and score a couple runs and you'll win. it might not be a hit fest but i really enjoy pitching anyway
-
Every pitch doting corners and the black is tiresome asf; along with being able to foul off balls placed in the other batters box.

I hear you. I used to be able to score on HOF but now all I get are laggy warping games where I am lucky to score 3 runs. Like you, on HOF most are 2-1 or something similar. Almost every pitcher on HOF looks like they are throwing 110. Nothing on my internet has changed but pitch speeds sure have.
-
Funny how SDS can’t come to a happy median. I mean I feel HOF is legend pitch speeds from last year and legend is a different level. But pitching has made hitting harder once u go out of allstar. Only those top 100 guys are hitting well
-
Theres just such a big divide between All Star and HOF. Maybe we need another difficulty in between???

The game is just screwed this year and going forward. If they are only going to reward pinpoint pitchers, it's pointless in playing. The dotted corners pitchers hit are going to be pop out, ground out, or simply a strike out.
They completely wrecked a franchise game with one mechanism, in one year. -
I play this game to hit bombs and have big shootouts not play a 1-0 barn burner lol
-
Let me ask you this. So when YOU are pitching, do you want to throw dots? Or would you prefer your pitches to not go where you intend them if you have a perfect pitch? It goes both ways.
-
I love pitching duels. Even before pinpoint, which I use, I loved a good 2-1, 1-0, or 3-2 type of game way more than a slugfest. Not because I don't like hitting, but because the reason most of the HR and big hits happened is from game induced hangers. My bigger issue with the game when it comes to pitching is that it allows an unrealistic pitching approach to dominate (high sinkers, sliders, etc.). Being a good hitter vs being able to hit meatballs is two different things and from what I've seen, good hitters still hit well. It's guys who mostly crushed the game induced meatballs (me included) who are struggling the most.

I'm sure everyone wants to throw dots with THEIR preferred pitching mode. Why should anyone be forced to use something they are not comfortable with? And why should they be punished for their choice with pitches aimed down and in at the pitchers legs (say righty vs lefty), with perfect release that floats straight down the middle and into the hitters wheel house? It's stupid and makes 0 sense! If you don't use pinpoint, you aren't going to win as many games as those using it, it's simple as that. They may as well take every other pitching mode out of the game at this point.

With this line of thinking, should the easiest ways to play the game be rewarded the same as the hardest ways to play? Serious question. Should classic pitching locate as well as all other methods. Should analog or directional hitting work as well as zone and your PCI be perfectly located by the CPU?
I think the issue here is that the different methods require more input goals and are harder, therefore are rewarded more. I may be wrong, but I'd love to hear a better explanation. FWIW I'm a previous analog pitcher for as long as that method was available who picked up pinpoint this year.

I've used meter pitching for 15ish years. I haven't switched to pinpoint and I throw "dots". I am amazing at pitching.

Meter as well. Tried pinpoint but I want to play a baseball game not draw pictures.

Analog was the best and most accurate way to pitch last year. Now this year, it acts the same as metered pitching with floaters in the zone. There really isn't any explanation needed. It's not about what mode is harder. Good input should be rewarded regardless of which mode you choose. It's fine offline, but online? Forget about it!

I'm guessing your an offline player because metered pitching does not work online. I can dot pitches against the computer all day.
