I suck too. I'm in my mid fifty's and I can't help thinking I'm getting my as* handed to me by some 16 year old who is messaging me after every at bat in a language I don't understand............. lol

Im 57 holding my own sometimes i get spanked and then somtimes im the one giving away spankings reps reps reps you will adjust and get better at it..

I’m old and bad too. Sometimes playing online later in the evening seems a little better. Especially on weekends. Don’t know if it’s an older crowd or more casual players or more non-sober players or just dumb luck but I seem to do a little better. Definitely seems like more players are quick to quit if you put up a run or two in the first.
Probably more useful advice like take pitches and only swing at good ones or something like that but I’m no good at those things.

Also if you stick with it long enough you’re bound to fall backwards into a few wins via disconnects.

Haha
I was just trying to get some Hits with my Yanks/Sox players for the event missions.I got 2. In two games:
So I just need to play 20 games… -
All you old guys just have fun man gotta understand you’re not gonna win em all. If you go online just always be ready to hit the fastball before anything else. Good luck to all my old guys

Wait a minute.....we didn't say we were old?!?! LOL

Old guy here and first year player. I will say that I feel like the thing that helped me the most was playing a lot...and playing online a lot. I didn't like online for the longest time because it seemed stressful. However, I stopped playing as much ranked and started playing tons of events and BR.
Now I play one or two ranked per week. Without trying I feel like my eye at the plate has gotten significantly better.Unfortunately, my PCI placement is still a touch off...I tend to line it up with the ball at the top of the PCI a lot. But I take a lot more walks now and just do a better job of being patient...which has resulted in more wins everywhere. Still not good, but I don't think I ever would have gotten better without consistent online play.

It's a grind for these event rewards and Keiner will likely be my only grind this year, but if you just sit in a certain zone and "make your strike zone small" that will go a long way in getting hits

I tried to play online.
But I’m bad.So, looks like I better beat Showdown.
Sonavagun!I'm awful online as well, got blown out 7-0 and 7-1 last night but I still won 3 games so I'll stick with it for 2 more wins at least. There's no way I'm beating the showdown.
My last win was a tie until the bottom of the 4th when I took a pitch that I thought I was very late on out to Left Field using Jason Dominguez. Couldn't believe my luck.
-
I've lost 150 games online. No shame.

I’m dreading playing the event. I hope I can get lucky and complete the showdown.

I am not good enough for showdown I know this so I am trying event and hoping only need 3 more

I promise ANYONE can get 5 wins online for the event. Including you.. It doesn't need to be done in 1 night. Play a few here and there and you will get them.. Don't quit so easy. You're not England

Showdown is slowly matching the same hatred I have for moments. Both are awful in their own special way.
-
I just tried to do the showdown and I failed the second mini boss (Palmer). More of a sweatfest for me.

I got it second try. Just get to ten runs before final guy. He tires out and it's easy. Don't let the failures on blue cards carry over to red. Bunt if you need to.

Showdown is just glorified moments. All those blue missions are just moments. I have yet to do a showdown this year. I’m glad they made them a lot more optional.

Each time I bunted to move runners over (and not with power hitters that have no business bunting), it either popped up for an easy out or a laser right to a fielder for a double play. Alternatively, I get a guy on first and hit a pitch up in the zone ends up a ground ball for a double play. It was Murphy’s Law in action.
I do appreciate the advice. I just needed to vent.
