I can't hit any more. . .
-
Something definitely changed because I went from a HOF+/Legend hitter all the way down to all star recently. Also, dynamic difficulty progression is broken for hitting right now. Just hit 8 HR with the Dodgers in a game to get dynamic back up to HOF, next game it started back at all star. I had the same thing going on. Perfect-perfect to CF with Nelson Cruz didn’t even get to the warning track in a recent game. Expect it will be addressed.

The same here. I’m having a hard time going yard which is something that came easy to me and now mostly grounding out or getting base hits then grounding into double plays.
-
And also on close plays, my manager is very very rarely challenging the call.

OK, I haven't COMPLETELY turned things around... but now at least, I do feel like I'm moving in the right direction. For PCI placement and whatnot, I found a YouTube video called How to MASTER PCI Control and Movement in MLB the Show 21! Tips from a TOP 10 LIFETIME PLAYER! by a user named OhChev to be fairly helpful. His plan for when you're really struggling SEEMS like it might be helping me get back on track. More on this as it develops.
Another piece of advice I've heard... although I can't remember just where at the moment is to Take until you've got two strikes. I'd imagine it might be wise to take this one with a grain of salt, just in case it's a "just me" thing. I... have a real problem swinging at horrible pitches that should DEFINITELY be balls, and this method seems to be helping me out there. If you don't have that particular problem, I don't know if this would do anything for you or not.
Like I said, I've just started to put these things into practice, but they honestly seem like they might be gonna work.. so I figured I'd go ahead and mention them here.
Have you ever tried hitting with the PCI off? I never use the PCI and I get hits and homers constantly. Without the PCI all you have to do is perfect your timing and never swing at anything outside the strike zone. It's that easy. No need to worry about where the PCI is, it isn't there to distract you from your timing. Give it a shot sometime.

Sounds like a pretty good idea, think I'll give that a try next time I'm playing. Think my PCI might actually be a distraction.

Its not just hitting thats off its pitching too. I was never the best hitter but I was ALWAYS good at pitching and hitting the spots (meter pitching) I noticed that with even pitchers Ive used and loved im still missing the meter almost every time now. Its by a second. The same for hitting. Its like its stiffer. Hitting feels like at times my batter is swinging a pine wood tree.
-
I haven't really had a problem with the pitching. I've also been good at pitching, long as I can remember. Not just in MLB The Show, but going all the way to the baseball games I was playing when I was a kid. Pitching just came natural. Played the game from the Robin Roberts program, where you have to beat the Phillies on All-Star... and it was like my team was somehow two separate clubs. My pitcher racked up something like 16 strike outs, and my fielding was on point... but my offense was pretty much limited to a few singles by Lou Brock, and a particularly lucky home run by Mickey Mantle. It was rough.
It always boggles my mind how I can be so good at pitching, and, to my mind at least, so bad at hitting.

It finally “hit” me lol I was ranked just outside the top 100 and now all of a sudden I can’t hit. Just lost a game 1-0 and out “hit” my opponent by 7-3 lol it’s a joke the scripting in this game. Can’t wait until Madden so I can delete this garbage.

Think I may have found a simple solution to my problems in the batter's box: just switched back to Strike Zone 3, and put the Altitude thing back at the center of my PCI... and it seems my hitting is back to where it was. Just knocked off about four moments, one try each, and won a game with my Diamond Dynasty team 7-2, (Jim Palmer finished with 19 strikeouts, and batted 2-3. Game was on Veteran, which, for better or worse, is where I've usually been playing lately.
I've seen a lot of people say Strike Zone was the best, because it let you see the ball as good as you possibly could, but it seems my brain works differently, as Strike Zone 3, with it's smaller version of the strike zone REALLY helps me pick out balls from strike... which goes a long way toward solving my plate discipline problem.

I just picked up 13 home runs for Boston. Jim Rice with 5 bombs and Carlton Fisk with 4 and Ken Griffey, jr with a homer and 3 doubles, Bill Mazeroski with a homer and 2 doubles, plus 2 other bombs.

I think something may have changed with update 17. I play only hof vs cpu, and average around 22 runs per 9 inning game. The 99 Acuna, I hit a homer with him every 3.3 AB. The Vlad all star card, every 3.6 AB. Average around 4.5 overall. Have a franchise with the Mariners, and halfway through Sept, have 83 homers with Seager, and 71 with Hanniger., both batting .340 So i'm pretty good at hitting on hof. But since 2 days ago, my hitting is atrocious. I'll still get the occasional [censored] corner of the pci, early or very early homer, but havent had a percect swing homer. Now it good be a slump and all in my head, but like I said, something feels different. None of the slumps I've went through have I played this bad.
-
There is something different now. A lot of pop ups more than before since the update.
-
Glad to see its not only me but man its been nearly impossible to get any runs lately I just found this thread so a bit late. But I knew something had to be different it just felt off. Not sure if anything has changed

Almost impossible to hit something today. Just random garbage hit... Me or My opponent completly random...
