Doesn't surprise me. Their owners are already cheap so instead of coming up with a good name they just changed "in" at the beginning of their name to "guar" to cut costs it seems

I’m not a big cancel culture fan but I do agree if a particular culture/race have an issue the change should be made. I just don’t like the name Guardians, you already have the Angels and when I think of Guardians I think of Angels or the Marvel movies lol I just think they could have done so much better. This is as generic as the names given in to select MLB The Show lol

Why not go with Rockers? Pay homage to the only reason someone would actually want to go to Cleveland.

They definitely missed a good chance to create a new name and culture. Clevelanders are a different breed of fans. In a good way.

Like with all new names, it will take some getting used to and im sure we will see logo revisions. Not a fan of the initial logo.

The Cleveland Indians are now switching to the Cleveland Guardians and after just watching their team video introducing the name it sounds much worse than it looks lmao wow
If they had to change the name and make a new logo (in my opinion, they shouldn't have, partly because it creates more controversy than the presence of the Indians name did), they could've put a LOT more effort into it. It looks like a AAA logo.
