How Does Online Rated Rankings Work?

Just curious does anyone know how online rated rankings work? I’m 171-30 and have a rate of 1927 with the ranking of #140 overall, however I see someone on the leaderboard who is ranked #5 overall with a rate of 2118 who is 151-30. Just genuinely curious how the rated system works. I only use the Phillies so I’m sure that plays its part but still, you’d think winning percentages and W/L record would determine more?

It's weird you get a team boost for user higher rated teams, so you match up more with those higher rated and much like the Reds the Phillies are a lower ranked team so not has high of a boost. Thus keeping us matched with lower ranked opponents.

not to mention your preferred gameplay style; difficulty, guess pitch, quick counts. I play HOF hitting and legend pitching with guess pitch and quick counts off thus rarely matching up with 2500+ that are using those same gameplay settings.
