Releases are out of control. On the one hand, kudos for all the content. On the other hand, the forced obsolescence of so many cards so quickly and the de facto "new meta" that will take place are bound to make RS frustratingly predictable.
I'd advocate a MUCH SLOWER progression of OVR's in the season. We should be in the low-mid 90's now, but the game is overflowing with 99 meta cards.
SDS is like an overindulgent parent feeding its children nothing but ice cream and candy. Of course the children will turn petulant instead of saying thank you...
That is exactly the opposite of the truth. The more cards that come out the less there is a meta to deal with. Right now people will be using all sorts of cards. Heck I cannot decide on which cards to use I have so many. Slower progression is what creates a stale meta.
Perhaps. Probably two points here, though, so my bad.
-
Too many "end game" cards already.
-
What creates a stale meta. You might be right. But I was referring to cards that simply become everyone's go-to. Cabrera-like. Now it'll be DeGrom and Ohtani. Maybe we're both right in different ways...?
-
-
It’s just a scarcity mentality to be complaining about good cards that are easily attainable. The idea behind it is that for me to win, everyone else must lose.
In fact, it is not only possible, but way better when more than one person wins. There’s enough good cards in the game for everyone!
I suppose someone will reply something about “snowflakes” and “little billy” now. They’re probably miserable.
-
There is a pack that had a whole team in it? Sorry new to DD.

I don't mind them releasing great free cards, but this was undoubtedly done too early. This feels like the Finest series cards from 19, literally handing out God level cards for all the great/likable/marketable players on each team. But that was done at like the 10th or 11th inning program that year. Towards the end of the cycle
Content this good should've came at around the 6th-7th inning at the earliest. Everything that came before this feels boring or obsolete now. And what comes after this? Is every single new card supposed to be a 5 tool stud? Idk, SDS always delivers on the content but I feel they took it too far with TA3 & these HRD cards. The HRD cards should all have worse contact across the board.
And 125 ratings shouldn't be getting handed out like candy. All future content is going to require hitting stats like this for people to get excited. But when that happens it's just like "well I already have cards that hit like this". Just makes things feel a little redundant. And makes the anticipation for future content less exciting. Which shouldn't be happing this early in the year

Yep. My main gripe is that this is way too early in the "season" for end-game cards. There should be a more gradual progression from inning to inning, referring to OVR's. Live Series gonna be Live Series, but those guys should be the only god cards until much later on...

This is the best comment in the thread. That’s what I thought when I saw these cards is that they just released finest cards in the middle of July. All new content will have to be a 98-99 overall now to compete with these TA 3 cards. I think it was just done wayyy too early. Also that 99 Degrom is going to be an annoyance in RS from here on out. Should have given Taijuan Walker a 97 for the Mets. Degroms live series was good enough with the addition of outlier to it.

You guys are all still arguing from your ultra competitive bubble. Most players, new and experienced, are playing on all star where literally every diamond and some golds are still viable. I hate bringing this up all the time, but people lose sight of that.
SDS is stuck between a rock and a hard place, people will be upset either way. I've already heard complaints about all the good cards being released too late in the cycle. Which is it?
-
If diamonds themselves are a dime a dozen, I wish they at least made over 110+ stats a little less common. Save those for the truly elite players. Especially with parallels this year.
Super watered down now and it might be fun now, but we’ll see how many people are sticking around til September.

[SDS has become to aggressive with these repetitive players having multiple cards, and now that we have players like Soto on Det as a diamond?!
I get it SDS wants to make money, and releasing players from the past is great but releasing these same players over and over and over and over with different ratings just personally ruins the grind, essentially all those who got Degrom, and raised him to a 99 get a kick in the face once these All Star series cards were released.
Ideally in the future I get that SDS only releases past players here and there, but instead of killing the live series players with multiple cards why not make a series focusing on a certain years team i.e. 96’ Yankees, I’m sure more people would enjoy the experience of having to grind for a “Yearly Team” vs 2nd half, post season, yada yada card that is already used in the game. The yearly team can focus on other players and give a lot of variety, instead of 6 cards of Babe Ruth, throw in a Scott Brosious, Paul O’Niell, Bernie Williams … like [censored] even give me a Jeff Nelson… SDS get in contact with me so we can work on this … stacking and releasing live series players and just making them Diamonds doesn’t make it worth trying for live series (speaking for myself)… the Parallel’s is one of the best ideas I’ve seen… but it doesn’t mean a thing now thanks to your All Star Series … it’s very frustrating but I digress
there is way too many cards. its honestly getting ridiculous. makes me just want to stop playing. Im ready to be done grinding for players and just play
-
Cards are too good? Too much content?
Yes, some people on this forum will complain about absolutely anything.

Then stop grinding and play? You don't have to get every shiny new card.

Then you’re at a disadvantage if you want to play some RS. Oh well

Then there is a point to the new cards if they are good enough to replace the ones you have, since that is the point of new releases.

Thank god SDS doesn’t listen to this forum sometimes, otherwise only content creators and top 50 players who spend 5k on the game would have diamonds and the rest of us would be luck to have Chris Flexen as our rotation ace. It’s a game, the next one comes out before you know it, enjoy it.

People just want to feel like their exclusive or special, without thinking about how the only way to achieve that is sacrificing the majority of the community.
