The All Star/Derby Series makes every card irrelevant

Waaaaa waaaa waaaa go play MUT for a year and come let me know what you think of the show. This is the only ultimate team version of any sport that does it right and this is my first year, your insane this is awesome you can have a life and also a sick team at the same time
-
You can't have a good team in MUT without constantly grinding mind numbing challenges, and I mean constantly grind, or spend 400$ a week on packs

But remember, good cards are only meaningful on paper. Teams win/lose regardless. That 90 Diamond gonna do as good as that 99..when it's time for the code to guide it along..and it will.
-
That's the bad thing about a year over year baseball game, the legends will never change. That's why you get 3 Smoltz and Maddux cards each year, plus the same recycled players with new card art. I think I'm going to skip the next year or two. I also tire of just seeing the same stupid cards over and over.
-
They don't HAVE to give every team a card of their actual 2021 all star game representative. And they obviously didn't plan this out all that well or far in advance considering the nonsensical structure of the missions. "Use all star cards but not the 2021 all stars the OTHER all stars that are all irrelevant". And now there's "all star" cards and "2021 all stars" which is dumb. They should have waited on all star series cards at all until now, and then done an all star themed TA3 with a mix of current guys that make sense considering what's already been released and flashback all stars. Simple.

Its kinda cool. If you bought this game last night you can literally field a team today that isnt out manned by any other team no matter how many stubs someone spent.

How is this that cool? Unless you're being sarcastic. That's exactly the problem.

Not sure how its a problem, it gives a lot of options for people. Plus people picking up the game late arent gonna be hardcore players. So at least they can field a team that looks good even if they get beat down with them.

Lol why would I play MUT when they haven’t updated a single thing in years except rosters

I mean, it comes down to this: *The people that spend real $$ on the game and/or play all the time are the ones salty about the content and the easy to get high rated cards. *The people that are nms and/or don't have time to live on this game 24/7 love the new content and easy to acquire high rated cards. There is no real "answer" there are just two sides with two different ways of thinking.
-
I often wonder why people care how other people get their cards…. Me personally, if you spent $5,000 on launch night, flipped or got cards because they made packs easier eventually, who cares.

So you think it's better that people that come into this game half way through the season should have the same opportunity to build a lineup in 2 days that most of us have been working nearly 4 months on?
Well that Recreational Youth Soccer mentality is perfectly fine for some. For the purists of the world..it really sucks. We want to have some edge for all the hours of grinding we put in all year.
But as I've said before, in this game card ratings hardly matter. It's just artwork and irrelevant numbers on a card. So, rock on. Whatevs.

You sir are a man of wisdom. Perfectly put.

Also I think what people feel to see is that if you are just picking up the game TA3 isn’t exactly the easiest… If you’re a hard core, you probably have the cards for the exchanges and can do that showdown in your sleep.. But if you’re just picking the game up and haven’t played, your probably not going to have all the cards in two days.
-
The moment that card companies were mandated to disclose pack odds and in turn, increase the pack odds, this was the model that had to be used. SDS takes a huge risk when making a baseball game. If the game bombs there are fewer players, which leads to fewer purchases, which leads to a loss of ROI. They are not making a video game to break even.
The content this year has been very good and I still believe that we have at least 2 big/huge collections left and a few mid/smaller collections. If you can't find any cards that you like this year you might need to lower your expectations of SDS.
-
Let SDS keep the flood gates open for these 99s. Doesn’t mean your going to hit well with them. 94 George Brett is not going to leave my lineup all year. He rakes for me. But I guess I’m more of a collector anyways and enjoy collecting all the cards not necessarily to play them.

Yeah and it's bad business to [censored] off all the players that spend money. Next year no way am I buying stubs, hell I'll probably just pick up the standard version when the first ta comes out.

Well, here's the thing. People who spend $ on the game will continue to spend $ on the game dude. DD isn't a new mode. This happens every year. People get a thrill out of "being the first" to get a card or have to have that 99 overall that is hard to obtain. It's like gambling and almost an addiction for some people. Maybe you personally won't spend money next year but most people that normally do will continue to do so, and the new comers to DD that don't know any better will spend $. SDS will get theirs man, with or without you.
Also, think of it through the other point of view, if there is no good free content Joe Blow may not even buy the game at all the next year because they have no chance against pay to play players. They have to attempt to keep both sides happy dude and from the business side they do a pretty good job of it.

Good free content is one thing. An entire team of free 97 + is another.
Steve finely was a 600k stub investment for alot of people every ta hitter is higher rated than him

Again, the majority people who just got the game, probably saw the home run derby and said I feel like playing a baseball video game, are most likely people who play on their television and are not hard core… I don’t think beating Alex Reyes in veteran if you’re a casual picking up the game is easy, sure most of us can because we’re hard core players… They also probably don’t have the stubs to do exchanges, so to get these cards, it’s going to take them a little… Us hard core players it seems like are just given free cards with no effort ( but that’s the benefit of playing all year, it makes this look like it’s easier than it is)… I remember when I first started in 16, I couldn’t hit veteran hitting in tv and last year I was an 800s player.. So yes, it seems easier because we are hard core players.
