I believe the change is meant to impact high power guys more than the rest of the cards, it will still affect the low power guys but to a lesser extent.
It makes perfect sense because low power guys don’t get crazy exit velos that often, so the nerf is in proportion to what the card attributes bring to the user.

I expect to log in tomorrow and see nothing but positivity on here since the update appears to address pretty much every major gripe that people have .....Hahahahahaha I crack myself up. I know the community better than that.
I predict that the board will be evenly split between whiny rants from players who liked the way things were before, and even whinier rants from people who are happy with the changes but immediately find 10 new problems to complain about. There will probably also be a couple posts from people who lose a game and start peddling conspiracy theories about secret downgrades.
Whatever you guys do, don't go disappointing me by being all upbeat about everything. Your grief is a daily source of amusement to me.

This update was made for me... I use pulse pitching and have used contact swing once this year (HR with Dominguez in Polo)... Love this update...

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think that is true. If you hold R2 and check that, it actually changes throughout the game. Not sure what the criteria is but I have noticed this b4 and made it a point to check every at-bat. And sure enough one time it will be contact under the card and the next it will say balanced under the same card. Or vice versa.

So they nerfed pitching to fix hitting. Does that even make sense? I was always terrible at hitting never used contact swing so not a real big deal but they didn't fix hitting on HoF. Now I won't be able to pitch very good so will suck at 2 things in this game.
Cant we just fix HoF timing windows?

These "fixes" look nice and much needed. Now lets hope whatever it breaks implementing them doesnt offset the good.

Pinpoint is too easy to get perfect input. This is needed. People will still paint with pinpoint it just won’t be every pitch now

Did they tweak hitting, I can't Even see the ball today so they must have changed hitting and it is no way my fault. /s

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of an instance with a switch hitter. Take 42 series Niko Goodrum as an example. I think when he hits against a righty he is considered a power hitter, but when he hits against a lefty he is considered a contact hitter based on his splits.
Otherwise, the label should not be changing throughout the game.

I mean the patch update says this will affect power hitters pretty clearly. Doesnt say anything else. My fear is that guys were loading up lineups with power hitters and using O. Now they can still do it with balanced guys. Some of those guys have better power numbers than some lower ranked "power hitters"

Against different armed pitchers Ive seen it change. Not against the same arm.

They didn’t nerf pitching but just raised the skill level required. Also, there is nothing wrong with HoF timing windows.

If you have been playing for an hour and a half then simple math tells me it was only down for 15 minutes. Website is still down though

I never contact swung and don’t use pinpoint, but I’m glad the community is getting what it seems to want. Hope it works.
