RTTS - Poor execution of 2 way player design.
-
If there's already a discussion of this topic elseware, I apologize. Please direct me to proper location and I'll move it. I'm a 2 way player, and currently lead league in avg. & RBIs in my 2nd MLB season. I have enough ABs to qualify for both. However, game doesn't even acknowledge me as 3B player, only as a pitcher. My own club (Mets) doesn't even have me on team's 3B depth chart, they have me as 7th in CF, even though this toon has never played OF. I'm sure this is because my chosen archtype at start of career was sparkplug. I like to steal bases. Why does the game allow 2 way players if it's going to completely ignore all progress that isn't in pitching category? I can't even start over with a new toon this year, because once player is started, you can change everything except position & archtype chosen when I started. I ONLY play RTTS, just like every game before this for 6 years running. Really poor execution & design of an interesting idea. My pitcher is all the way up to 80 on overall ability score, and even though I've played MANY more games at 3B, my rating there is still only 69. Surprising because both my offensive & defensive attributes have moved up to the low 40s. I

because with covid restrictions this is what they were able to do, im sure they said it wasnt ready and they needed alot more time, but they werent allowed to release it any later then they did(most likely MLBs doing) and they should have.

Honestly I think there were a lot of things going against SDS this year.. Not the least was trying to develop things for multiple platforms while dealing with the restrictions. Lots including me have said that we didn't expect a whole lot this year. I personally however, expect a way more polished and better designed MLB 22. They will have the benefit of actual play data for the new systems. If next years game isn't leaps and bounds above this I will then, be very disappointed.

I could understand, but should be patched

I will be upfront-I have no idea how a video game is put together. But why would people have to be face to face in the same room to do whatever work is necessary?Or are you refering to some other obstacle?

In a video a couple years ago, they showed how they were incorporating statcast data into the game, the control panel he was using was over 10 ft long probably weighs several tons, even if you could move some of the equipment(most probably not) i seriously doubt residential wiring would be compatible.
Which would severely limit what they would be able to work on at home, and the quality of it,considering there highly specialized equipment is worlds above what consumer stuff could do. -

Ironically I have a 2 way player in 20.SP and DH with a day off before he pitches.Every once in a whille he plays left field.Started Richard(Head) in 14.Was able to pretty much max him out before they started capping players.Of my four players he's the only 2 way-and the game made the change-not me. -
