For folks who grind RS 800+, what's been your experience this year?
-
I just made WS for the first time this year and compared to 19 and 20, ranked feels massively easier than in years past. Pinpoint has made it possible to win without needing to score 9 runs per game and it's glorious. I feel like I'm playing actual baseball and not Ken Griffey Jr. Slugfest. I can actually pitch and limit my opponent's offense unless they're a total goon. I got into WS with .917 ops which was almost impossible last year.
Anyone else feel the same way, or am I just improving as a player?

I totally agree. I haven’t grinded RS this year much, but in years past I have made WS. My Era this year with my starters and my BP is amazingly low compared to years past (4+ era). I haven’t even tried pinpoint yet, just doing analog still and still dotting pitches I couldn’t in years past. It’s a lot more fun now especially in HOF and up.

I’ve had an easier time as well. I feel like tunneling and sequencing matters a whole lot this year.
I’ve always been great at pitching. I feel it’s been even more rewarding this year. I compare my ERA to others and I seem to be way below most

I made WS once in 19 which was honestly just total luck. I was pretty awful, it was my first year playing DD and first year playing the The Show since 16. I spent all last year trying to get back and inevitably would stall out in the mid-800's because every game turned into a HR shootout and I had trouble adding on once I got 4 or 5 runs. I finally realized I was just going to need to hit better and really focused on my hitting and finally got back in twice in the last few seasons of the year. But [censored] if every game wasn't HR derby.
This year I'm 41-7 in ranked and have a 2.55 lifetime ERA. I'm wiping the floor with guys with WS and 12-0 banners. But at the same time I know I'm not THAT good. I think with the addition of Xbox players the quality of competition has gone down dramatically. These games aren't even that sweaty and last year pretty much every game above 800 was a complete sweat fest.

World Series is not the problem let me know how you enjoy legend or are you stopping now LOL? It's nice to get the World Series pack but it's a pain in the [censored] to keep grinding on Legend to get the 40 wins. I am putting myself through that hell this season and I'm not sure if it's worth the 90k for the vida blue pack will give me.

That’s good to hear man and congrats on the good record, keep the grinding. I decided this season I would grind it out for WS. Currently at 845ish with a 8-2 record (I think lol). Two rage quits today in first three innings, I guess people give up after an early homerun. Lol with what you and others are saying, I think I’ll just grind out the last few wins this weekend to get Vida.

I’m struggling this year, been in WS from 17-19, didn’t play 20. This season I’m topping out at 830 then I’ll drop down to 780ish and then back up to 830, then back down. My pitching is phenomenal, sub 1.5 ERA (like a lot of others). My hitting (around .233 avg) on the other hand is abysmal. I’ve never experienced so much swing and miss in my life. I’m missing on offspeed and it’s driving me insane. I may just drop down to 730ish and see if I can string some success together and build off that. Before hitting 830 first time, I was 22-7, now I’m 31-18. It’s more in my head at this point I think and I just need to feel success again.

It’s def all mental it seems like for you bro. We’ve all been there, where we feel defeated and can’t hit anything. Just take a day or two away, and remind yourself you made WS in the past. Get some confidence and catch on his pitch selections (as I’m sure you already know). You got it bud.

Go for it man! People are definitely giving up if they see you can hit. With so many people struggling at the plate because of pinpoint there's a lot of quits if you go up by 4 or 5 runs. If you've made WS before you already know it but if you're good enough to hit 845 you're good enough to make WS.

I feel like the talent is watered down, probably because of Xbox being in the mix. I’m just in the 700s right now but it seems like people rage quit the second you get a lead.
I use a full Rockies TT. Have hardly ever went to my bullpen and only using 3 starters on short rest.

Appreciate it, and yeah, it’s definitely in my head. Didn’t play online for a couple days and first game today, 5 runs on 10 hits, felt much better and more comfortable again. Appreciate the boost
