A bit pissed lost 3 diamond players not realizing when you do missions and exchange team rivals you LOSE your players!

I mean it’s an exchange. When you exchange tickets for a prize at the arcade you don’t get to keep the tickets afterwards

That's the difference between exchange and collection. One you trade (exchange) for something else, the other you keep.
