that people are playing this game with different pitch speeds. I am sitting in all star and have to sell out to hit a fastball yet a streamer on legend I can call out [censored] and strikes almost immediately. Not sure what happened but the game the last few weeks has pretty much been unenjoyable and borderline unplayable. Can I physically play it? Yes but when I have to sell out on all star to hit a 95 fastball and have to take 3 innings to see what pitches my opponent likes to throw just to hit, it isn't playable. I'll hang around in the 500's and get my 40 wins at some point but when my squad gets on I'll be jumping over to PUBG immediately.

I typically enjoy a challenge but do you really think I want to play this game on HOF/Legend when I can't read/react pitches on all star. Once again, the first month was pretty fun. Guess that is the expected life cycle of this game. This game hasn't been a challenge the last few weeks but a joke. Game is the same every year because someone at SDS thinks everyone can play everyone despite what internet connection you have. Game is long overdue for a ping indicator. No sense for 95 to feel like 80 one game and 110 the others. I guess as long as it plays well for pitching_rebel and other content creators it's all good.

I’m glad you made this post. I think the same stuff every time I play.

I know I am not the only one experiencing this. I am not mad. I don't get mad at losses. I just want to have a fun, enjoyable experience and play baseball on a video game. I don't need a 100-10 record to have fun. For 4 years now I just don't understand how this is one of the few online games without ping indicators. For a game that requires milliseconds of reaction time, it feels like Socom 1 and 2 online when you had people skipping all over the screen. Yes, had turbo internet then from a different provider and 2 of the guys I played with a lot were from Cali and Washington and they used to skip all the time. It is 2021 and time for better connections in this game.

In the meantime, I will just play when I feel like it and jump to PUBG when I don't. No big deal but it would be nice for these issues to be addressed.

It's zero part of it. Pitcher confidence has no bearing on 200mph pitches that you have to swing before the ball leaves the pitchers hand to hit.

So what do you think it is? I’ve definitely experienced the same thing but it’s not every game so I wouldn’t think it’s internet connection.

It's not just your connection, it's also your opponents. They really just need to give you a ping indicator, I understand why they don't, but its needed.

    Why don’t they?

I would imagine they don't want to encourage people with bad internet to not play their game, which would probably happen if people couldn't get into a game because people can see they have bad internet.

Yeah dude I get your complaints but don’t discredit your opinion by saying stuff like coast players have better connections and streamers see everything slower. We all deal with what you’re experiencing. No need to exaggerate or say you’re at a disadvantage compared to others.

I thing what he’s referring to about ping has a lot of merit. And I do think people are having different experiences with this game. Do most of the games you play run smoothly, or are most of them where the pitches seem like they’re going 200 mph?

For the most part my games have been fairly smooth but I have definitely experienced games with warping pitches that look like they’re 200mph out of the hand. Combine that with someone who’s pitching very quickly and it is pretty hard to be successful.

So imagine someone’s frustration if their experience is the adverse or yours where they are seeing ungodly pitch speeds on a regular basis, and the games that run smoothly are few and far between. How would you feel about adding a ping indicator or being able to set some sort of ping threshold for matchmaking purposes?

I’m all for it. I don’t have anything against what OP says on a regular basis. He has valid complaints which I’ve seen myself in the game. I just think he would be taken more seriously if it wasn’t always some conspiracy that streamers get more time to react than he does or that coast players have an advantage. The victim role isn’t going to get you anywhere in life.

Not just streamers. Look at the highest rated people. Ton of people with names from east and west coast. Yes, coast are more populated but also more people sharing wifi. There isn't a chance in hell anyone i[censored]ting .400 on legend/HOF seeing the speeds I am constantly seeing. No big deal. I'll just continue to play PUBG when squad is on. I'll pick up Battlefield when that comes out.

who plays any videogame on wifi in 2021......

    Uh, most people

Yup, most people aren't going to route cords through walls and between floors, especially renters. Most people use wifi and are mostly fine with it.

PS. Last year was atrocious for the issues you're talking about. I haven't played online much this year because it's just not enjoyable swinging a bat underwater. It's been a little better this year, but I have had games with 200mph fastballs, including one early on on Veteran believe it or not.

Like I told the other guy... I know not a single soul who uses wifi. How old are the places you people live in? Even apartment complexes 10 years old around me have ethernet jacks.

There's a million ways to find a way to connect via ethernet...... I have ethernet jacks throughout my house so it's easy for me. But for you, get a TP-Link or Netgear Powerline adapter. I can assure you it will be faster than wi-fi and you wont have to deal with cords everywhere.

I mean, my house was built in the 1940s. As were millions of others. The only apartments built in my town in the last 20 years are the condos down by the river for rich seniors.

We don't all live in a metropolis.

If two good players are playing eachother this game is pure RNG, connection and monitors or game mod equipment. It’s a waste of time.

I just played an event hof game from somebody with Philadelphia in their title. I live in central VA. It played so smoothly. Now I know this person isn’t necessarily from Phili. He could be next door. But recently, the smoothest games I’ve played were against this dude I just mentioned, somebody with St. Louis in their name, and then somebody with Midwest in their name. I have no idea what this means. If the matchup is p2p, I don’t know how distance from opponent impacts ping. I don’t even know what it’s pinging to. In every matchup, is one player given an advantage based on proximity to a server before opponents are connected?

I live in one of the few markets with Google fiber. Wired in, ports forwarded, static ip, best dns setting, great router, new cables. Really isn't anything else I can do. I am getting the same results with wired, 5G wireless, mobile hot spot (totally different network) and even tried 2G while streaming Netflix. Games when I am on the good side generally don't last past 5 innings.

Well, when fastballs are 120 mph and you can't catch up to them you have to sell out. Best way to do this is to have an idea of where they like to pitch.

Do you think you can tell when guys are using the Zen program thing?

I just made World Series and it took 21 wins…during those games it’s seemed to me very obvious who was cheating.

Certain guys you could fool them out of the zone and with timing, but EVERY SINGLE TIME they had fair to perfect timing within the vicinity of the zone it was it was absolutely blistered for an extra base hit. No hard liners to center or short….something was wrong.

Between what I’m describing, the pitch speed you are posting about along with connection stuff and the freeze offs we must all really love baseball and these game must be really great outside of the issues for people to keep playing.

Played one game after I made World Series to test out Vida Blue and he had Edward Cabrera. The guy was like 81-5 I think.

We both had 12 hits I believe, but he ended up hitting like six home runs and I actually scored zero. Had the bases loaded three times and put great swings on some pitches. One I even guessed slider away and made a perfect power swing and lined out to right.

Something about the way the ball was coming off the bat when he made contact didn’t seem right.

There is too much variance in this game to be 81-5.

The point of my post is that I’m almost certain there is some kind of cheating going on. I’ve never seen a zen and didn’t comprehend what it was….so I did some research. They are back ordered three months they are so popular and it is literally a little box you plug your controller into that modifies the input from the controller to the system.

For MLB on YouTube some kid demonstrated the Zen program for hitting on MLB and it basically seems to help square the pci for perfect pci placement.

Seems very plausible to me that a lot of people on top of the leaderboard are using it. They wouldn’t even show up on their streams as using it. It would just be a normal controller. With the rewards selling for so much right after dropping people are for sure cheating.

Seemed far fetched to me that people were using cheat controllers, but after doing the research it is for sure happening.

that people are playing this game with different pitch speeds.

During a 9 inning game, I have a pretty good idea. Only really seen like 3 that I suspected which isn't bad. Someone painting with Maddux and I don't bat an eye. Someone painting constantly with below 80 control raises suspicion. Especially hitting the line consistently with say Chapman. I couldn't do that with Maddux and I had a 2.77 era first season at 974. Think it was right at 3 last season with high of 942 and 2.90 this season. I can pitch so I have an idea of what can and can't be done with certain pitchers.

You know them games you can turn on 100 like they are throwing 80 and everything looks like a beach ball? You don't get to 81-5 without pretty much every game being like that. What I call "magic internet."

I was thinking that too….maybe those gaming routers do the trick?

Makes a lot of sense….I remember playing halo back in the day and playing swat. Some games it was like butter getting 50 kills and the next game you would get smoked before you pulled the trigger.

I’m guessing it’s the same issue. SDS is a solid 15 years behind in server technology.

How to get a static IP address….google that. Says you can purchase a static IP address from your ISP and that is the difference. You purchase it per device.
