You drag bunt or push bunt? Seriously the only thing these moments do is highlight how absolutely useless contact hitters are in their game.

He hit for decent, but not great average, and the most HR's he ever hit in a year was 6 which is why his power is so low. His power is so low that even gapping the outfielders is hard in this game.
Interesting stat - He struck out fewer than 50 times in every season he played (19) and he walked more than he struck out in every season he played. Unfortunately, his style of hitting and play does not translate into the game very well.

I dont understand how Ozzie can get in the HOF with his defense alone and Andruw Jones who is one of the best defensive center fielders ever is held out cause he did not hit for a high enough average. He did decline kinda early, but his defense alone should get him in with his 400 plus homers.

The fact that Jones isn't and Harold freaking Baines is makes me physically ill. Jones is almost double career WAR, and like you said, one of the best defensive OFs ever...
It's like a case of "who you know".. Baines got in because of his relationship with Larussa who is on the HOF committee.. Jones has Bobby Cox, but Bobby probably fishes all day or something

I mean he was a career .260 hitter with 28 career homeruns in like 20 years played. That's pretty bad lol...Of his 2460 career hits only 500 were XBH. Bad again,
Elite defender though. Not as good as Vizquel but elite nonetheless.

Ozzie Smith isn't just the best defending SS of all-time. He's the best defender of all-time. And it's not even close.. he's wayyyy ahead of Omar.

I grew up in Cleveland in the 90s. I idolized Omar and Robbie.
