Terrible POTM choices

No Austin Riley either?! Hello? He hit .311 with 7 HR, 15 RBI, an OPS over 1.000 and an OPS+ of 139.
But nah, let's get ANOTHER Kluber because ... I don't know, sinkers? -
It’s like they said, “well, we didn’t give Kluber his Topps Now no-hitter card, so we have to do it now.” But I can’t imagine anyone was clamoring for a Kluber no-hitter card to justify it. The choices for most the players seem strange (so many other more deserving choices) and then the attributes don’t seem to match.

Best thing about this program is the 42 pack.
This, but also just getting Semien for the future lightning collection

I want to know who sat down, looked at this, and said "yeah this will go over well"
They must have been sitting there like….. “ok guys looks like we have a lefty pitcher meta on our hands. What should we do about it?
“ Oh I know why don’t we make a bunch of left handed batters with low contact for POTM. Boom problem solved”

Honestly I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Semein in a very limited sample size. Personally I think the big problem for May POTM was that the a lot of the best players in May either were superstars they were not going to give a juiced card to at this point in the cycle (Tatis & DeGrom) or had already been featured in April (Muncy).
That said, I do have some quibbles with the card selections and ratings. Kluber was unnecessary, he already had Topps now and that NH was really a single event not a month of dominance (especially as he got hurt immediately after). There are a ton of well performing pitchers who could have had an interesting card either low diamond (like Mize) or high (Gausman).
Finally some of the ratings are pretty questionable: Winker definitely should have had better hitting stats and Semien being 8/8 in SB means his steal rating should be higher (not his speed).
Tl:dr - May wasn’t a great month for SDS to work with, but they kind of botched what they chose to do.

My issue was not with Semien, nor Tepera and Wheeler. But go down the line and read these card descriptiona and stats. Meadows had a great week, Crawford did this in two weeks.
Look at guys like Gausman, Bogaerts, Adolis Garcia, etc. that were much better for the whole month.
