I know Metacritic has it at a 4.2 (out of 10) in user reviews, though most complains are on the RTTS side of things, which sucks if you love RTTS, but I don't play it so I don't factor that in when I consider the game.
Sure. 78 metascore with 36 reviews. I could care less about 139 user reviews. Especially after I read a few.
And exactly, RTTS doesn't really apply to me at all either. -

MLB The Show 21 is a goofy money grab carnival game. The primary objective here is to get players to spend more money, not to enjoy an experience.
Gameplay will not improve, they need us chasing the pipe dream of perfect/perfect bliss. They give you just enough success to keep you coming back.
Everything is a hustle. Stubs. Packs. Market. Etc.
If gameplay becomes consistent players will achieve mastery and revenue will go down.
I just wanted to play a fun baseball game not be scammed an hustled after I paid $100 pre-order.

If that’s really how you feel then I highly suggest not going to Madden. I’ve heard worse things about FIFA and 2K as well but I only have experience with DD and MUT. This game is about as least cash grab as it gets for an “ultimate team” mode. You don’t have to spend money to be competitive in DD AT ALL.

Money grab carnival game? Lol this game is the best sports game when it comes to not having to pay to have the best team. They give out so many packs for free, and some of the top cards are free and all you have to do is play the game.
And by the way they made it even easier by making World Series and BR flawless packs available for people who are not great at the game, so what part of it is a money grab to you exactly?

RTTS is semi-fun. I'm enjoying it in small-to-medium doses. I bought it for Franchise. Not bad either. Even if you never played DD it's worth the money..imo.

Online play is terrible. Who wants to play a 40+ minute game where you get nerfed so hard that it is more like work than play? Play terrible opponents that strike out 15+ times in a 9 inning game only to lose because you were nerfed and they got buffed.
