From reading a lot of these posts everyone, pretty much, played high school baseball. Couple played minor league baseball. I actually read a post on here some guy claims to have played with Johnny Damon in Triple A. Good for him.

So, the question, who hasn't played high school baseball on this forum? I believe, from what I've read, that's a much lower number than the alternative.

Share your best high school baseball stories if you have. I think it would be great.

I'd venture to guess 85% of those claims are BS. The other 15% overblown. Just my guess.

For the record, I played baseball in little league travel and quit when I hit high school because I wanted to focus on partying.
Now I play beer league softball and can't wait for the pub after the games!

I was pitching my junior year and took a line drive off my head. Was knocked out cold. Everyone said they thought I was dead lol. I missed like 3 weeks. First game back pitching in the 1st inning I took a line drive off my chest lmao.

One time I hit a ball pretty good and when I ran past first, my first base coach said its gone. I thought I hit my first homerun, I was a freshmen. The ball had rolled under the fence so the fielder couldn't reach it. Anyway I was smiling ear to ear and jogged all the bases and the ump at home said what are you doing go back to second. very embarrassing.

Only played in the local Little league until I was 15 and didn’t make the high school team. I think I would have made it if I had gone to both days of tryouts, but for some reason my 13 year old brain couldn’t figure that one out.

I played football, though, and as a 15 year old who was getting ready for varsity footbsall, you can imagine I was a beast going up against the 12 year old 7th graders in my last season of little league.

You really love baseball, I would’ve never come back after being hit in the head by a line drive

Im sure everyone here would throw up a tennis ball to themselves and swing. Well when I was in 4th grade my older brother was doing that and he hit one into our neighbors yard so we went over to get it. He's not paying attention and throws it up to himself and bam. Aluminum bat to the top right side of my head. My mom saw it and she said I dropped like ton of bricks. Which now makes me crack up laughing picturing what that must have looked like. My brother said our neighbor said with no emotion "gotta be careful" lmao. I think the time has past to be careful...

Anyway, in response to your comment...I think it's more brain damage than love of the game lol.

I just liked the fact that anything exciting that happened, anything funny that happened, and even some of the bad things could be used for conversation in the hallway gab-sessions the next day, bus-ride home, etc. Also, the really memorable ones for post-HS conversation starters. Also, if you had some success it didn't hurt your chances with the comely females.

In the province of Quebec Canada, in my time, school does not have any baseball programs it was leagues named B...BB...A... And double A then you come to Midget AAA ( elite before major junior basically the equivalent of your U-programs and yep it's call midget.... Whatever) I made the AAA team so I'm like 16-17 years old and my best memories is pretty ...... Sad ..... The "coach" walk through training camp it was the father of a player ( the one who still don't know which hand is pitching ) and he ask me to become a 1st baseman because his son is now a catcher ... A lefty catcher not a lefty hitter a god fukchin left handed catcher ( they don't even do glove for lefty catcher) so I hang out my cleats. Next day they call me to come to the major junior training camp I made the team I start 90% of the games behind plate hit over 325 rookie of the year and I laugh my [censored] off when I saw a game with a left handed catcher scared of a fast ball and unable to understand why he had to block the ball... poor kid....... Canada is a hockey town and baseball is like récréative soccer sometimes .... Sad ... p.s. sorry I'm French Canadian and my English is not top notch I know ...
