Disconnects

I'm playing a person with awful internet and the game froze.
Obviously this is @ common occurrence, but does anyone know why the PS4 doesn't acknowledge the disconnect/freeze?
In other words, why do we have to have a standoff with another player who has a lousy connection?

Its just either bad servers or dudes is glitching for the freeze which u can do.

Sorry man u just gotta sit there and hopefully the opponent quits or you quit.....I blame xbox being involved...even if the crossplay is off..MLB was not this bad until these cheaters got the chance to play our game...
