Should I be buying/selling in the marketplace?

Flipping is rewarding but tedious. If you play enough I would suggest never “sell now” a card you get but rather list on market for the lowest bid by 1 stub. Remember there is a ten percent tax so if you sell something for 1000 stubs you only are getting 900 stubs. If you want to flip I suggest starting small with equipment because it is steady. Buy at minimum quicksell amount and list to sell at a reasonable profit.

even if you aren't flipping I would recommend always using the market to sell cards and not just sell now or quick sell. Its crazy the amount of stubs people leave on the table by not just putting in a buy or sell order and just waiting 3-4 minutes

How do you pick what cards you want to sell????

Yes! Btw Diamond perks are starting to heat up again. Since people are getting to the end of the program more are coming into circulation. Look for the ones that are 6500-7500 and flip em right away. I made about 400k in a few days doing this last program.

So buy them at 6500-7500 you're saying? Then list it immediately for like 10k??

If you're flipping for profits, yeah (i dont know the actual values) you basically place a buy order just above the max listed and a sell order just below the min. You ideally want to find something with a decent margin. Don't forget to take 10% of your sell price to determine your actual stubs received. Personally flipping is too tedious but its a good way to make stubs if you have the patience.
In terms of just selling cards....sell any LS that is a duplicate. Keep in mind the quick sell min values (5 for common, 25 for bronze, 100 silver, 1000 gold, 5000 diamond). Take that price x1.1 to determine the min sell now/sell order price. Otherwise you're better off doing quick sell. If your focus is collections, sell any non LS card you get from packs/events/etc. Keep ones you like to use but sell anything else if collections is your goal.
Also keep track of real MLB stats a bit. Keep any mid-tier golds that seem to be playing well incase they get bumped to diamond.

I've been adding the cards to collections... Is there any benefit to doing that?

Well yeah...the main goal is to get all those flashback/legend cards that are otherwise unobtainable. Full MLB set gets you Awards Chipper, NL is that Soriano, AL is Ortiz. There are also rewards for each individual team, one for each division and then the above 3. Perfect example, I just completed the NL central last night and got 94 Ernie Banks by locking in the 5 rewards for each NL central team.
These cards while variable in their usefulness, can safely be applied to the other collections (like rookie, vet, breakout, 2nd half, etc) that will almost certainly be required for the "big collection" later this year. Also, there will likely be some events that allow certain card types that you can use these in.
Theres other small benefits like some TA1 progress for collecting cards and some small stub refunds.
That said, you only need 1 card for collections and the rest can be sold off or used in exchanges (daily missions, some TA points, etc)
-
watch some youtube videos bc you really need to be selling cards unless you spend a bunch of money
-
Some players you want to keep cuz their Overall can go up, thus. Changing their Tier levels, which increase their values..
Others, I'd start with looking at Cheap or Easier to complete collections (teams with No Diamonds) and seeing which cards sells for the most.
If you can sell a common for 100 stubs, that's a W.
Bronze some can go up to 100- 200+ stubs. -
