Getting into online games

Idk if this is the right forum this so feel free to tell me if I'm in the wrong section. Why does it sometimes take at least 15 minutes to get into a game in ranked, events or battle royale? It will tell me I found an opponent and then give an error. This is the only game I've ever had consistent issues like that.
