They get so many hits on bs. They get hits when inside the PCI almost every time. Seager gets a hit inside the PCI maybe 30%. Kind of getting tired of working my [censored] off in this game for no rewards.
Funny how SDS thinks I will buy stubs to compete. I don't function that way. I buy stubs if I get rewarded sometimes and need an extra push. The only time I put in extra money, I pulled Sale for 70k. Haven't pulled anyone close to that and haven't put any more money in since. All not getting rewarded is going to do is see me tank down to 400 to work on dailies and 40 wins for RS reward. Then I'll make the WS later.
40 events wins, 40 more events wins, 40 BR points, then 100 BR points, 40 RS wins will net you 9 good diamonds you can build a team with or sell for collections. All team affinities packs and stubs. 2 inning bosses plus the diamond packs. Then all the stubs from the programs. You should be ashamed of yourself to claim this is pay to win. Yes some people get luckier than others with packs but if you curb your pack addiction you should be well on your way to chipper. You should at least have the AL or NL done if all your stubs went into live series collections. Stop blaming the cards for your losses..
8 have chipper and feel i am pretty decent at the game. On that note, i have been shelled by an all 42 series squad on gall if fame..
skill still rule the day even with the flaws.. Flaws of the game go both ways and affect both players. Shame......shame.......shame......I am living proof that it can't be without flipping, spending money or getting extremely lucky pulls.
Meanwhile, im living proof that it CAN be done without spending a dime or playing the market.
As of right now, ive done all player programs, all moments, all conquests, all TA...and i've completed nearly every LS collection with the exception of the higher priced cards and a few lower priced (Trout, Rendon, Betts, Bellinger, Seager, Kershaw, Bauer, Cole, Chapman, Judge, LeMahieu, DeGrom). I dont buy packs, i dont buy stubs....the only thing i do with the market is selling all my dupes and [censored] i dont care about i.e. contracts, bat skins etc.
As far as "lucky pulls", i pulled Verlander and Acuna at launch, Salmon and Buehler the week after, used my 1st Inning diamond on Scherzer.
And you realize that just with Trout, Betts, Bellinger, DeGrom that is about 750k in stubs. Where are you getting those at? Playing an event for 60 wins for a 30k reward and packs that yield absolutely nothing. I'm closer than you as I have bought Trout and am still a long ways away.
Where am i getting that? Well, i figure by actually playing the game and doing all the content available, selling all my rewards because, lets be real, the 30 packs im gonna get for finishing the 2nd inning are all gonna be duplicates, plus the diamond that ill get which i probably already have should get between 10-20K, the 2nd inning boss im contemplating selling, whatever i pull from the Space Pack that i wont need, the handful of golds from the BIAH packs (some of which could possibly go diamond and sell for more...Ohtani?), add to that the 50K i already have....im in pretty good shape. Im also not racing anyone because my team is fine as it is.
And lets not forget that any reward packs from the TA season 2, other than unsellable individual cards, will pretty much be sold for stubs.

I understand you're not in a hurry. My point is all that stuff you listed probably won't be enough to buy DeGrom, unless you get a really lucky diamond pull.
If I tank down to 400, I'll probably have the 40 win RS reward on the weekend or so. If not, it would take me probably 2-3 weeks to get to 40 wins. Gee, what should I do?

I have live collections done besides Trout basically, with no money spent. I've also played a ridiculous amount of Conquest. But I still haven't played online yet, which shows grinding offline can even get you a ton of free stuff.
-
I play so many of these dudes and I have never made it to HOF difficulty before. They usually only have about 30 games played total as well. How do so many people have the absolute best team in the game a month in? Are collections easier than previous years? I know skill is a big factor in this game but it's just wild playing these teams every game and having to deal with an even bigger PCI size on all star and veteran.

That's commendable. Anyone grinding deserves respect. I can't say it doesn't tick my nerves a little knowing how much money people spend on this game (not that I should care at all).

Just curious, do you get the bloopers or the balls with eyes on them as well?
Come on don't you know it is always the other guy that gets lucky. Never, ever happens to posters on this forum.
d_e_m_i_s_e does not want to compete, he wants to dominate. He amasses a very good record and advances until the competition gets too tough, blames it on everything except his skill and then tanks back down to a level where he can dominate again.
The website shows that he is 64-27 online and more than half those losses come from him just quitting in the first inning to tank back down to a level where he can dominate.

No no, he would come back and dominate...but he gets the boot because of his hotspot internet. So he says...lol

I'll have the LS done by the end of the weekend. I will still get destroyed online because I'm terrible at the game.

skill still rule the day even with the flaws.. Flaws of the game go both ways and affect both players. Shame......shame.......shame......I dont understand the whole "pay to win" thing either. They literally give you stubs and/or packs for everything. The Team Affinity gives you 7500 stubs and 16 TA packs per division. Thats 45,000 stubs and 96 TA packs....plus the regular packs and the BIAH packs you get from them. Theres really no reason to pay anything and theres really no reason for people to be complaining about not having good enough cards to compete.
I mean I’m personally good enough at working the market I’ve gotten every big live series card that is trout or cole through flipping cards. But I’ve done most of the ta all of the conquest and all the showdowns and I’m yet to actually pull a single diamond player card from a pack that didn’t guarantee one. Every time I get a diamond it’s a bat or a stadium or a jersey. So I can see how some people who don’t have hours to flip the market and have horrible pack luck like me are having trouble completing anything.
And I’m only done with 2/3 of the nl

I spent $400 when the game dropped and that's more than enough for the year. I definitely wouldn't recommend spending. My excuse is I'm having a kid in about a month and financially in a position $400 of disposable income put towards my top hobby isn't going to be an issue.
Pair that with a good bit of grinding BR/events/TA and I stacked all my stubs and didn't blow them and was able to get Chipper. I will say a 12-0 BR run really helped me out because that was like 250k stubs.
I would say I'm above average in this game and I'm one of those guys who don't have many RS games played (only 20). I only had 100 RS games played last year.
I will say that next year I won't spent any money. I don't create content and will never be a comp guy so having the best cards doesn't matter. It also actually is a downfall to have so many awesome cards because you lose the progression aspect of the mode. By the time I got Acuna I already had Trout/Finley/Buxton.
-
It makes it a lot harder but it's definitely not pay to win. If you don't want to spend money (I didn't) you will need to grind or be super lucky. I don't really mind facing soriano, pappy and chipper, I can keep them off balance most of the time. Pitching is where I saw the biggest difference. I faced Glavine yesterday and couldn't buy a hit. My 90 diamonds that I was doing ok with could not do anything. I will have to keep up with the grind or my 90 overall team will be obsolete in a week or 2...

I've flipped my way to almost 5M stubs so far this year. Had LS done almost 2 weeks ago now.

I have a god squad.
CAP
Chipper
Ortiz
Trout
Finlay
Robinson
Posada
BanksSo it’s a combination of spending real money, flipping, being lucky with pack pulls and grinding.
But it doesn’t help me being good. I range from 380-550 all the time.
Hitting is so god [censored] hard. But this is my first year in about 4 playing ranked and with a pci. I’ll get better.
But I love having a decent team. But if I go up against someone even a bit skilful
I’ll get smashed -

How can you say I don't want to compete when I finished last season with a 974 rating? The 304 ranked person in the game when I logged off Sunday night. Also had a 2.77 era and don't even have the best pitchers in the game. I am doing what I need to do in order to get stubs. Why sweat out games in the 8/900's and take 2-3 weeks to get the 40 win when I can just tank down, get my 40 wins and ws reward probably within a week instead of waiting 2-3?
If SDS wants to give me a pack with something decent in it, I will stay at 800 and play that. Until then, I will do what I need to do in order to get stubs. Easiest way to get stubs right now is to tank down and get the 40 win WS reward. I have grinded a ton in this game for really minimal rewards. So, I will do what I need to do the easiest way for me to play and get stubs. If you don't want me to do that, throw me a [censored] bone some time.

dude this is easily the best sports game out there when it comes to getting rewards and sds doesn't care if you spend money on the game. You can compete with dudes with chipper with a base god squad or heck go play events or br and earn the stubs you are lacking to complete chipper or flip and get chipper. You never have to spend money on this game...
-
This is the most BS thread. You can compete with silvers if you can hit well with them. Maybe not on legend but HOF or lower you definitely can. Silver pitchers would be tough but if you spent all your stubs on pitching and used guys like Blackmon and Mondesi, you can keep up with anyone that isn’t an absolute goon right now.
-
I’m also NMS don’t care if people spend money on the game. I just completed LS collections and have not flipped at all.
Practicing and getting better at the game, being disciplined at the plate, understanding strategy in critical situations is going to serve you much better than having the best cards. Get to a point were you consistently win in BR, events, and ranked to get all the rewards.
I have beaten plenty of god squads with worse teams and also lost to better players with worse teams. Don’t blame the game or cards. Put in the practice and your NMS team can absolutely compete with god squads.
