Take R2ing out of the game.

Also, this is supposed to be a "gentleman's sport" (LOL) - but the second I see my opponent holding R2 - it's real simple. I keep it in mind and give him a sec going forward. It's really really REALLY not that hard. You're all playing dumb if you think that it results in a "normal pitching motion" when you're quick pitching. It's amazing how I can go a whole game, say behind by 3, not see a single quick pitch, but the second I have a bases loaded situation it's like I'm trying to face my whole at bat's worth of pitches in one swing.
At least if you're gonna say you hate R2 pushers, admit that there are people who they put the feature in for. Don't act like it's some "cheesing" - what is cheesing about you having to wait a second? You know what's cheesing? watching Jake Diekman have a seizure on the mound when you purposely pitch it halfway thru his set position motion.

I just don’t get why anyone needs to use R2 every at bat, even every pitch in some cases, unless you are a cheeser.
Some of us have autism but still enjoy online play.
Some of us have dyslexia but still enjoy online play.
Some of us have anxiety and quick pitching raises our heart rates and makes it really uncomfortable to play.
Some of us have other mental things that require that full second pause to think about the pitch, or to just take a breather.
Some of us have all of those things that all affect them, but still enjoy online play.
You know what should be rewarded? People who take their time and aren't just trying to spam their way to a win.
You know what shouldn't be rewarded? Being mad at a part of the video game that they've kept in specifically for people like us who need a few seconds in a key spot.
I personally don't spam it. I don't touch it when you're in the windup. I don't touch it when it's a normal inning or if I'm feeling mentally okay or if I'm able to stay locked in. But absolutely going to do it on every pitch when you suddenly pull it out as a "tool" in a tough spot to get me out.
There's way more people who are quick pitch spamming, than there are of us who maliciously hold R2.
Congrats on having a brain that is so fast at picking a pitch and location that you don't even need to consider anything before doing it.
I wish I personally had a brain that could do the same.
I guess I’ll say it one more time: People hold R2 primarily to throw the pitcher off - not because things are moving too quickly. It happens to me even when I am taking time between pitches or come to a complete set.

Of course they do and every one of them in here are using every excuse under the sun to try to keep that ability. They don’t care about anything they are typing.
Like I’ve said add everything they “need” to see on the hud and make the pitcher pause a second before the pitch. Shouldn’t be that hard to add. If they have an issue after that they want to troll you.

And I'm simply saying that I am not one of those people, but all of you who "hate it" throw us all in the same basket. I clarified in my first statement exactly when I do it, and it's ONLY when you're suddenly doing it out of nowhere.
If you are who you are saying you are - I can tell you you wouldn't see me push it. But you all throw us in the same basket every time.
So then you get mad when we throw all of you in the same basket all the time.
Then the convo goes nowhere and MLB doesn't improve or change anything.

Stop complaining and suggest something to SDS that they may actually implement based on actual gameplay, not your hissy fit about having to wait a second now and then.
I also have not faced a single person who "holds it every single pitch" like you both say.

I don’t even use slide step lol. I just don’t care enough to. If you don’t take a secondary lead I don’t care what you do.
So take out r2 and r3 l, add last AB pitches, pitchers repertoire and batter stats to hud and make the pitcher pause a second before each pitch. Boom we all win and we’re done here.

Beautiful! Love it! But bet you half the guys you just "riled up" agreeing with you about removing R2 will disagree with the pitcher pause.
I have always said it's as simple as not allowing the pitch input to happen until the pitchers hands are set.
That's it. Just let their hands come together.
If they do that, both sides are happy. And I'm able to play sanely, and so are you.

How the defense set up; really? Quick tip: either shift on or off; just look at the 2nd baseman

If it makes it uncomfortable and raises your heartbeat or anxiety, don’t play online or learn to be more laid back. Pause the game for 30 seconds or quit the game if you’re in over your head for a given game. You’re putting too much pressure on yourself for a game if that’s the case.

Are you friggin kidding. You try quick pitching a baseball team in real life, and they'll have their dugout on you. They don't like it, and neither do I. Frankly, they should put balks back on, and then this wouldn't be happening. Put on balks, and get rid of R2 (although it does show your confidence level).
1st, quick pitching is an actual strategy in real baseball. Rules are if batter is in the box and the ball is in play pitcher can pitch whenever he wants, he dictates the pace. Feel free to learn about Queto to learn about the strategy of quick pitching. If there is someone quick pitching non stop they are just a terrible pitcher and need to do it to make up for what they lack and it’s on you for not breaking up his rhythm.
2nd, They should never bring back balks due to lag issues in game. Balks would be called on you even when your visuals show it’s not even close. Look at all the times where the game displays something thats not actually going on in the game.
3rd, and this is something I’ve never understood why it isn’t this way, the r2 info should be displayed by default during the AB. It interferes visually with nothing and I’ve never understood why you have to hit r2 to see energy and confidence. If quick pitching is such an issue in this game, which it really isn’t, they could implement a 2 second freeze on inputs before a pitch is selected

Certainly should limit it, no reason to do it every single pitch during an at bat.. and then you get the clowns who insist in mixing in the bunt dancing

The Bunt Dance is very special. It's funny how some people really think it's messing up our pitch performance. Now that you can see when someone hit's R2, t's easier to avoid a screw up,

Bunt dancing was actually started to mess with pitching. Visuals have gotten better so it’s not as bad, but when bunt dancing became a thing people did it because if someone was pitching in strike zone view the bat would shade or block, and create motion around the “sweet spot” on analog pitching so it would make it harder for someone to time their motion. Now it’s just used by immature trolls

That's kind of what I meant by "special"...lmao. I just find it funny that people have to take advantage of system glitches to get a thrill or exploit as a tool to win.
-
Personally I think the obvious solution is for the batter to “step in” the box. Basically the batter says they are set with a button push and then the pitcher can pitch as they like. Obviously there should be a short (5-8ish second) limit that the batter has to do this. Boom: no quick pitching and no BS that is just trying to mess with people’s timing etc.
-
Take ur time pitching when someone uses it. Most will stop when they realize you aren't going to let it mess you up.
OTOH, quick pitching sux as well.
-
I can honestly say this entire issue is completely non-existent in the CL I play in. It is only a problem in RS and BR/events.
Why? Because in the CL, I am in contact with 11 other players who are all interested in having a clean, competitive and fun game.
The moment you go into RS, the theme becomes “win at all costs regardless of how it impacts the quality of the game for my opponent.”
You can see this just by reading this thread and all the others on the topic.
If nobody abused R2 to mess with their opponent’s timing, there would be no issue. If nobody tried to rush their opponent into bad swings by quick pitching, there would be no issue.
The real problem is not R2 or constant slide-stepping or balking, it’s that the majority of you don’t give a rat’s a$$ about your opponents, and the overall quality of the game.

5 seconds a pitch x 100 pitches and we are taking about adding on like 8-9 minutes to the game. No thanks....

Bunt dancing was started b/c people were constantly throwing in dirt or out of zone. There was a year where you could hit anything with a bunt. So when people started constantly throwing out of zone people would bunt dance as a msg "Get pitches in zone or i'm bunting every pitch!" that is why it was started. So if you see people bunt dancing they are probabally saying get it close to zone.
2nd paragraph not intended toward quoted post:
But anyway SDS should not remove it for those that dont abuse it. And actually use it for what it was intended. And how many times has your Pitcher been up to bat and you wanted to switch them out? But b/c you were being quick pitched and couldn't go to quick screen to change batter now you behind in count. KMA if you try to tell me people don't do this either. This is why MP sucks get features on both side people abuse it then it gets taken away and game take step backward.
stop making it sound like ervery1 who uses feature is spamming it.
