TURN OFF ASSISTED BASERUNNING!

Hold down the LB button.

Yup, lost a game in BR today because of this... was going to be win number 9, but ended up losing in the bottom of the inning. (I was on the mike trout path as well)..
Probably wasn’t going to get to 12, but should’ve had 9.

Sounds like user error to me. Baserunning is 100% in my control, only on the lazy flys and bloopers are they hesitant due to tagging up purposes, but other than that it's works perfect for me.

Runners going back to the previous base instead of advancing has been a problem for the past 2 years and I have complained about it numerous times and they do nothing about it........
-
You should watch the replays on runners stopping at third most of the time they're sliding at the base when they shouldn't. It's been going on for years. SDS doesn't give adam about the issue or it would be fixed. P!sses me off to no end when i hit a slow roller up the middle and i tell the runner to go home and he slides at third for no gd reason or they dive back to second. The programming is broken and these a$$hats won't fix it.

The obligatory get good comment. Sigh.

Make the switch to classic baserunning. Do this and as long as you avoid using L1 to move runners (ie use only buttons and d-pad), they will do exactly what you want them to every single play.

On the contrare, just pointing out the possibility that people might not understand the baserunning to the fullest. I was merely pointing out i use it the way it's intended and it works. If i was gonna use the "get gud" comment that's what i wouldv'e wrote.

I don't need to watch a video when i know how to use it and it works. Poor attempt at trying to get views on what is probabally an edited video or lacks information that gives whole story.
But thanks for participating!

You’re an idiot. Even though there’s hundreds of people complaining about it, you just assume they’re all wrong and you can’t possibly be incorrect. I could care less about views, not even sure why that’s re
Your'e cool! Why when someone makes a post to add to discussion they get called names? I would love to tell you where to go and the quickest way to get there but i guess i'm a real man and not a punk kid hiding behind a screen?

That’s interesting, it clearly indicates you have directed the runner to 3rd long before he actually starts moving. I can’t think of any reason that should happen except the dive back slowing him down.
I noticed a very similar thing in custom practice even using buttons and d-pad (classic). Except in custom practice they hadn’t dived, they were just standing. I’ve never seen it in-game (I even tested in a game after I saw it in practice and am fairly confident it didn’t happen) so I figured it was limited to custom practice only.
Try using classic without using L1 to advance runners (ie advance runners individually using buttons and d-pad). I know I sound like a broken record when I say that but it really is the superior baserunning interface.

I've been having an issue alot lately will my runner will just freeze in between the base paths. not sure if i'm pressing a button accidently or what causes this but its infuriating.

Could be pressing R2; that’s the button for it. See if it happens again when you’re keeping well away from it.

Switch to classic baserunning. You can have control of each runner and still advance em all with L1 and return with R1..runner on first will be ️and 3rd 🟨. That's PS controller so if Xbox those corresponding buttons.

This. Agreed 99%.
Except don’t rely on L1 to advance them all at once (unless on a wild pitch or passed ball); that’s where people run into problems. It’s literally less than a second total to do all four runners individually using buttons.

Dude hes 100% right though. I just played a game where Ronny Mauricio was on 2B and my hitter Larry Walker roped a double to the LF wall. Mauricio just stood there and wouldnt move. I spammed LB and it did nothing. This has been happening for me since 2017. Its not just me. Its every year. Whether baserunners resist, retreat on their own, or just freeze. Its not in the user's control and its most certainly not a user error. And as I also said, on the flipside, a runner on 3rd advances on their own with 1 out when the hit is a tapper to the pitcher and is thrown out easily at home. This game doesnt give you 100% control and its frustrating.

Dude is not 100% Right and niether are you. Youv'e been playing since 2017, I've been playing since 09' 10' the controls are the same now as they were back then. So yes when i use it and it works i'm pretty sure i would know if it was a bug or not. Yes things happen Occasionally, but majority is people need to learn how to use baserunning the right way. So therefore my money is on user error more so than a "Bug" or "Glitch" term that people use so loosely to describe thier experience.

I dont care if you have been playing since 1983. I know how to run bases and i know the controls. They don't do it. Its every year. So I dont know what version of the game you play but me and thousands of other users i see say the same i do every year in the forum or even on Youtube also can't be wrong. Ive been playing baseball video games since 1987. No game has been worse than the show in base running controls.
