Gotta make sure that ball is getting down before going, though. If there's a chance it can be caught, don't run.

Okay yes, but on the second video the runners automatically ran without me telling them to do so, so the chances of my guys running automatically on the first video are very high.

Yeah, that's definitely some bad luck/animation. I was mainly referring to the first one.
I rarely ever see what happens in your 2nd clip.

Watched the clips. Unfortunate for you but I see nothing wrong. To argue that a bronze defender shouldn't make that play is no better than arguing that a diamond defender shouldn't commit errors.
Everyone makes errors, nobody has a flawless season. But not everyone makes miraculous tipped catches to themselves, especially in that manner, especially fielders of the bronze tier. If he makes the catch normally, then I could careless. Tipping the ball and miraculously catching it while turning around is where I draw the line. I'm honestly shocked that people expect this to happen to them and don't have a problem if this happened to them.
So everyone makes errors, but only a select few can make great grabs? Do you want a highlight real of average athletes in sports doing incredible things? Give me a break.
Yes, please let me know when Ryan McMahon is making Nolan Arenado-like plays. But my argument isn't even that. The point is that animation shouldn't happen, it's bs and rewards crappy fielding, which really isn't supposed to be the case. I would still be mad if it was diamond fielding because that shouldn't be happening.
If it was common I would agree to you but things like this are very rare. I would rather see weird things happen on occasion than see everything look identical
Yes, but even once in 50 games seems to be too common. I don't feel like you would see more than 5 of these types of plays in the whole MLB season. And there are 2430 regular season games every year.
I'd guess that the rate is much lower than that, you have just been unlucky. I have not seen anything like that all year, and didn't see it last year other than one time when there was that issue that fielders sometimes didn't lock on to fly balls. On that play my OF had the ball hit him in the head and caught it after it bounced up, but even then it's not quite the sane as your plays.

You're right, in the entire history of baseball, no such catch has ever been made.
Here is that Ryan McMahon video you requested.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zukKg2WnIBI The first 40sec are his defensive highlights.
Google really is a great tool.
That's from two years ago buddy, Brandon Crawford was an elite defender two years ago, now he's just average. D.J. Lemahieu was a three time gold glove winner with the Rockies and now he's average (most recent being 2018). A lot can change in a person's fielding ability in two years. And once again, this isn't my point. My point is animation like the one in the videos is ridiculous and should be taken out.
Hahaha I love your "yeah but..." method hahaha
You: Show me a video of Ryan McMahon making defensive plays.
Me: Here is a video, it took my 5 seconds to google it.
You: Yeah... but... that's like.... not right now.
My point is pretty clear, yours has changing parameters: Crazy catches happen, even the most average baseball player is capable of making a crazy catch . You asked to see Ryan McMahon highlights...you literally had the option to choose 1 player out of 100s. I sent the clip within minutes and now your new reasoning is that players regress over time. Your point is clouded by your inability validate your opinion.
Here is a video that perfeclyt illustrates my view.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk9nLy-A0qI
I'll wait for your counter point and evidence... I'll most likely receive a notification that the goal post has been moved. Your better off just saying "Well, I have no evidence to support my view. I just don't like what I saw."
Let me start off with explaining some things buddy. Ryan Mcmahon is a bronze fielder in MLB the show(for his diamond not sure about his bronze card.) That is a current reflection of the way he is currently playing. I'm not sure what his fielding rating was a few years ago but it probably reflected his play. But showing me plays from two years ago doesn't reflect his current bronze fielding in the game. That's my point with why his defensive plays from two years ago doesn't affect his fielding in this years game. I'm not even changing my point of view, which you have yet to acknowledge even though I said it in the last two posts and that this animation shouldn't be in the game. Even lowering the chances of this occuring is good enough for me. And even on our debate, I'm not changing my point of view, I'm just saying your evidence isn't relevant as it is outdated.

I'll show you average recievers making crazy catches (David Tyree)
Below Average basketball players playing well (Andre Ingram)

Your argument holds no water. You have offered no evidence to support your stance. When counter evidence is shown you either shift the requirement or don't address it.
Face it: you didn't like what happened, and that's all that you have.Okay, I didn't watch the David wise video because I was trying to address your other points. He was put into the game as a defensive replacement in that top half of the inning. Meaning that he is a good defensive player.... My point wasn't that at the beginning. My point was that the catch was ridiculous and that the animation shouldn't be in the game. I said I could care less if they had diamond fielding it's still a bs play. And yes I defend my point that Ryan Mcmahon currently cannot make Nolan Arenado plays. Even Nolan Arenado shouldn't have made those plays. He was the first person who popped into my mind when I thought of bronze fielding.
Let me first start off by saying that the second and third examples are terrible because there are other factors into those.
David Tyree was one in a million, if this animation happened one in a million times, fine, I accept that as extremely unlucky. But it isn't, which is why I brought it up.
In basketball people get hot (takeover in 2K), and anyone can get hot, but the level to which the elevate depends on who the player is. A man on the bench that gets hot might score 20-25 points in a game, which is really good, but will not reach the ceiling of other players like Curry, Durant, or Lebron.
No hitters are random. Animations should be random. But no hitters aren't common. And this animation shouldn't be that common. It has always been a known fact that the best players don't always throw perfect games/ no-hitters. Matt Cain threw a perfect game, and he won't be a HOF. But Roger Clemens couldn't throw a no-no(and his stats deserve to be in the hof, not sure about his actions, but that isn't the debate). They really come at random as one person can get hot for a night.Yes sports are amazing and the average joe can go off and make a highlight, but I don't see mishandled catches being bobbled and caught again by joe's in the outfield every two weeks or so (I assume that 100 games in all of the MLB is played in about 2 weeks? idk just a guesstimate). The rate at which this animation has happened seems to be too high. And that's my main point when I created this forum.
Yes I am facing it, I don't like that it happened this frequently and that's why I'm bringing it up lmao this is the whole point of this thread.

I just said your facts are out of date and you didn't seem to like it and you went off on a tangent.
When it comes to facts and using data. There is a window of about 5-7 years where data still remains relevant. So my two year old video is still relevant in this situation. The CF catch to solidify the Sox PG, is a video example that demonstrates a crazy play. If asked nicely, I'll pull a video for you that's more recent and shows an average player(s) making a great defensive play.
The evidence I presented isn't out of date simply because you deem it as such nor does it falsely demonstrate the point that average baseball players can and do make ridiculous plays.
Odds are, had you been on the opposite end of the two plays you linked, this thread wouldn't exists. Further proving the point that all you have is not liking what happened to you. It's sucks, I'm sorry. You're going to rob people of HRs, take advantage of someone being caught off guard and win because of it. Welcome to sports.

You're better off just saying "Well, I have no evidence to support my view. I just don't like what I saw."
Crazy catches happen but these types of plays arent something we should be seeing as often as it happens. The frequency at which the same weird things happen over and over again is an issue. Playing this game youd think in real life that these catches are normal, every hit ball up the middle hits the pitcher, every throw to the cutoff is a foot above their head and they have to jump. In case you didnt know, all of these things happen way less frequently in real life than they do in the game. Just boils down to limited animations

Lol and people have the nerve to critique my thought out thread! Omfg i am roflol. Great videos ty
Your thread wasn't thought out lmfao. Nobody liked what you said and everyone hated it. Why should you have input on a game mode that you don't play? A salesman at Staples doesn't tell Bill Gates how to do his job.
That's your arguement? Omfg that's funnier than your videos! Omg i needed a laugh tyvm
Don't mind OP he's just upset that his feelings aren't strong enough to validate making game animation changes.
Are you just making this number up? Since when does data still remain relevant about 5-7 years later. I've never heard that before. Tim Lincecum was a CY young winner in 2009. In just three short years he was pitching out of the bullpen, in 5 he pitched one game in the Giant's postseason run. In 7 years he was irrelevant, pitching for the Angels, and having a 9.16 era. Tell me how his stats from 2009 have any effect on him as an Angel in 2016. It doesn't. He was a completely different pitcher after 2011. He lost his velocity entirely. Don't make the argument that it's different because his prime ended. Most players don't have 7 year primes, or even 5 (they will continue to have good seasons, but not their prime).
Yeah it's a crazy play, nobody denies that. What you don't understand is who the person is or the situation. He wasn't the starter. He wasn't a pinch hitter. He was a DEFENSIVE REPLACEMENT in a position that requires better defense than the majority of the other positions. A defensive replacement in center field. What are you trying to say? This guy can't field? No, he may be a scrub ballplayer because very little amounts of players are remembered for their defense when they can't hit, but he can field and that's the argument we are having.
Also, I wouldn't classify bronze as even average fielding. Logically it makes sense that silver is average as there are both two levels below and above it. So I would classify bronze fielding as below average. I'm not saying that bronze fielders can't field a ball they can, they're major leaguers ffs. I'm just saying they shouldn't be making ridiculous plays because of bs animations like the ones in the videos. You really shifted the whole purpose of the forum. It was to complain about the bs animation.Odds are that if I were on the opposite end of this, I would still post about it. I feel bad when I a bs home run on a pitch I shouldn't have hit out, because that shouldn't have counted. And no, I don't give the guy a run back, but I'll admit it and message the player after the game and tell them I got bailed out. I don't want this animation in the game, even if I was the one who got bailed on it.
I could care less on robbing home runs. That is skill oriented, not luck or rng like this animation is. I ain't going to complain because my opponent is better than me, that isn't luck, and this is the point that I'm trying to make is that the animation is bs luck and shouldn't be in the game.
