I agree with this completely, I was actually impressed by the soundtrack this year. But I'm one of those people that turns all music down after a couple days anyways. However with that being said, you would think they could have a lot larger soundtrack, or constantly change the songs up with their weekly updates.
If 2k can do this, you would think we could do a little better.....
"The 2K Beats Soundtrack on Next Generation consoles offers up to 150 of the hottest tracks to ball inside NBA 2K21. Including more than 100 songs in collaboration with UnitedMasters. The soundtrack is constantly being updated to add new releases. " -
Just needs sounds of the show added.
-
The playlist is okay, but I do miss adding my own songs like I did for 19 on PS4. I loaded that up with baseball songs like Centerfield, Joltin Joe Dimaggio, and songs from baseball movie soundtracks. I found the intro music for All-Star Baseball 2003 last summer and wanted to add that this year as well. It's a little disappointing, so hopefully they bring that back in future iterations on PS5.
-
I miss Sounds of the Show. Franchise mode loses a bit of immersion for me.

That's just sad if true. I only like 3 of the songs alright. Of course my opinion probably doesn't matter since I don't listen to much past 2006 as music took a nose dive off a cliff the last 10 years or so.
-
There are two songs on this soundtrack that I can listen to repeatedly: “Take Care in Your Dreaming” by The Avalanches and “Pick Up the Pace” by Big K.R.I.T.
-
I mute the music immediately lol.

No it didn’t; you just got old. Happens to all of us. Your dad probably said the same thing. While I still listen to stuff from my teenage years (90’s), some of it sounds like chit today!

Personally it’s Valley of the pagans by Gorillaz (with Beck). Got me back listening to Gorillaz’s old stuff

While I agree aging is part of it, music has gotten objectively worse lol. Even my young cousins can’t stand today’s music.

Whose objectivity? See, not easy!

If you have Spotify turn off the game sound and stream Spotify through your PS. Then you can play whatever the heck you want.

if your gonna have a sports game with constant music playing, you gotta choose a BETTER and more baseball relevant playlist with ALOT more than 12 songs....I enjoy having music playing during all the gameplay but hearing the same songs multiple times in an hour sucks. Reach out to actual pro players In the league and see what REAL players are really listening to. This current playlist is terrible
The real players are millennials, so they probably mostly listen to rubbish hip hop or bubble gum pop. I'm quite fine with some good ol' AC/DC.

Music today is just generated to be a twitter trend or something viral...music was better from the 60's through the 90's. Now everything we hear is driven by some algorithm from the music studios.

The 80’s is probably the worst decade; had I not grown up then, not sure I’d listen much to it. Many sounds aged badly and the hair metal is embarrassing. Take out nostalgia and bleh

To me the 80's had some of my favorite albums. U2's Joshua Tree, AC/DC's Back in Black, Guns N' Roses: Use your Illusion. I can't even name you 2 bands or artists that are popular today....they seem to come and go without much staying power anymore. And most of this hip hop or whatever it is called will be looked back at in 20 years and most people will say it didn't age well either. Without a doubt, today's "music" is the worst it's every been...by a large, large margin.

Use your Illusion is 91; pretty close (last hard rock hit album before grunge and punk rock took over). AC/DC feels worn out (to me). But sure if you’re a fan of rock you can’t listen to radio; always been more pop and R and B. Loved Motley Crue and Skid Row had one good album; Suicidal Tendencies was great back then. But Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard and all these types of bands have aged badly. Lots and lots of pink candy pop back then too: Madonna, Janet, Paula Abdul, Rick Astley, Wham/George, Debbie Gibson, Eurythmics... It always cracks me up when I see 80’s movies and the dancing lol

I'll take 80's over 90's any day.
90's began the saturation of boy bands, teen movie pop that all sounds the same, the death of good punk music, and really the death of talent...
There was some good for sure. Hip hop's best decade, some good rock bands like Foo fighters... Some punk still killing it like NOFX and Strung out, and nine inch nails downward spiral was incredible (Trent Reznor is a god), but there was so much garbage. (Pardon the pun)80's, while they still had a lot of garbage pop, had serious talent and creativity with Van Halen, U2, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, etc.
Ya it got weird.. really weird at times, but I'll take that over 90's boring alternative that was churning out for the most part..
80's was so original. -

TODAY's hip hop is rubbish. Mumbling, tatted MC's. Just awful. Not 80's and 90's, though. Especially the 90's, hip hop's finest hour. Rock is my favorite music, but I still love hip hop.
Game soundtracks are trash these days. Gone are great ones like Madden '04, NHL 2K7, NFS: High stakes, and Hot pursuit, ESPN NFL '04, etc. They'll never be great. Listen to 2K ones and you'll wish you had no ears -

80's was so original.Lol I’ll agree to disagree, especially on the death of talent and punk music. Eddie Van Halen was great musician no doubt, but the music is still hair metal cheese like Whitesnake and Poison. Phil Collins did dad music. Pop music had corny synth sounds or saxophone. Corny soundtracks like Footloose and Dirty dancing. Joy Division was great before the singer killed himself. I’ll give you boy bands, but is that really worst than Culture Club, Tears for fears? I’ll take Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots over any rock band from the 80’s. I still listen to that god awful decade, but it’s mostly nostalgia.
