Historic Rosters 2021

The field of dreams field is coming to mlb the show. Too bad they didn’t create shoeless Joe Jackšon and other greats that went along with that movie and field. But awesome nonetheless
-
That really stinks that they won't let you port the players. I loved your rosters in MLB The Show18. And you really helped me out by adding the 1900's White sox players. Would have been great with the Field Of Dreams park added this year. Really appreciate you though. All the time and love you put into this stuff. I want you to know it is definitely appreciated!

Totally agree! Was really hoping that he was going to upload the rosters he had in the past. He had the whole roster of the 1900's White Sox! It was awesome! To bad they won't let him port over those rosters. The work he puts into this is great! He even had created Moonlight Graham!

I am in the process of creating an ALL TIME GREATS roster for MLBTS 21.
Unfortunately MLBTS 21 doesn't allow franchises or rosters to transfer from MLBTS 20 to MLBTS 21 so all players will have to be created from scratch. For a 93 man roster we're talking about over 2700 players. Given this unfortunate situation of having to recreate each player from scratch it's going to take several months to complete this roster.
The first cut of this will be 40-50 of the all time greatest players for each team/franchise. As I create the players for each team/franchise I will upload players to the Player vault. When I get 40-50 players for each team/franchise I'll upload an ALL TIME GREATS roster to the Roster vault.
I'll periodically post updates on this message thread. So far I have finished BAL, MIN, and am working on BOS.

Thanks for putting this together, I will check it out. Seems like something this mode lacks (all time franchise teams) as well as needing more classic stadiums.

In past years I created an ALL TIME GREATS roster containing the top 75-90 players all time for each franchise. That's what I'm working on now but it's going to take a few more months to finish.
In the past I also created ALL TIME TEAMS for different ERAs. For example: 1900-1929, 1930-1949, 1950-1969, 1070-1989, 1990-2009. Last year I also created a roster that contained the best team for each franchise. For example: BAL-1970, BOS-2004, NYY-1927, etc. Unfortunately I doubt I'll be able to get to the ALL TIME TEAMS rosters due to how long it takes to create all these players from scratch this year.
If SCEA allows roster transfers in MLBTS 2022 then I'll transfer the ALL TIME GREATS from MLBTS 2001 and will begin working on the ALL TIME TEAMS. That's all dependent on what SCEA decided to do though.

Yeah that's too bad they won't so far. You have put a ton of effort into this and I am really appreciative. I may be able to write down the attributes and everything from the 1900's White Sox team I have in MLBTS18 and make them on this. They are the main team I'm wanting since they have added the Field Of Dreams field to the game. Of course you have some on this game already I saw. Which will be a big help. It's just mainly the backups I'm going to need now.

Here's a tip that might help. Go into MLBTS 20 and edit a White Sox player. Using your phone take a video of the TV and scroll through each of the player's physical attributes. When you've gone through every attribute stop the video, switch to MLBTS 21, create a new player, and set the attributes for the new player to the same values from the video. You can easily pause the video if it's goes faster than you can enter the values. Do this for each of the 1919 White Sox players and you have all the players.
NOTE; I already created the CWS team in the ALL TIME GREATS roster for MLBTS 21 and put the players and the roster in the vault. It included various players from the 1919 team including Eddie Cicotte, Lefty Williams, Reb Russell, Joe Benz, Chick Gandil, Ray Schalk, Happy Felsch, Joe Jackson, and Buck Weaver. You can find them all in the player vault or in the roster vault.

Does your playlist only exist on PlayStation. I tried finding it. I have Xbox and then realized you must be on ps i’m thinking.
-
I am on PS5 but I thought the Player Vault and Roster Vault support both PS5 and Xbox. In other words I can upload a player or roster to the vault from PS5 and you should be able to download to Xbox assuming it's the same version of the game (i.e. MLBTS 21). You may have to turn on Sharing or some feature named something similar.

I was able to search a few days ago...looked like the last time you uploaded your all time roster updates was early August, is that right? From the teams you mentioned you were working on they look great so far.

A couple weeks ago sounds about right for the ALL TIME GREATS roster. I upload players to the Player Vault just about every day though as I am creating them for the team I am working on in the ALL TIME GREATS roster.

Oh, I didn't know there is a player vault as well. So people can go in and download the players and add them to your rosters?

Yes, there is a player vault. If you've used the Roster Vault you should have seen the Logo Vault, Player Vault, and Slider vault as well. They are all accessible via the Vault. There's also a Stadium Vault but that is accessible from within the Stadium Creator only.
And yes, you can download a player from the Vault and add it to any roster you have on your console.

I added DET and uploaded a new version of the ALL TIME GREATS roster I'm working on. It now includes BAL, BOS, NYY, TB, TOR, CWS, CLE, DET, and MIN. Up next is KC.
Roster name is ALL TIME GREATS under user biebig2010.

Great work so far biebig2010! Love using your created players to import and noticed that you had a roster you were making along with it. Typically your players are more accurate than the rest that have been uploaded so I prefer using them.
I have a few that I noticed you have not done and was curious as to why, for example Bob Meusel, Bob Murcer, or Paul O’Neill for the Yankees who were all arguably better than some others you have done already. Do you have plans to make these players in the future at all, even if they aren’t for your roster but for player importing? As I said, you seem to have a better knack at it than the rest.
Just curious, keep it up. I’ll definitely be supporting it all!

Red Rolfe and Johnny Murphy are also missing too.
But, if you are going to include duplicates, why not ones like Reggie Jackson, Jason Giambi, Roger Peckinpaugh, and Mike Mussina?

I'm not including duplicates. Do you see any anywhere?
I will get to players like Rolfe, Murphy, Murcer, Meusel, O'Neill, etc when I can but I am not creating 90 players for each franchise just yet. I'll try and get there but it's going to take quite a bit of time to create 90 players X 30 franchises. We're talking about 2700 players minus the current players still playing that came with the game.

Paul O'Neill poses an interesting dilemma.
O'Neill played 8 years for CIN and then 9 years for NYY. O'Neill's WAR was better for NYY than it was for CIN; however, if I put O'Neill on NYY he's the 5th best right fielder in NYY franchise history (based on career JAWS) behind Ruth, Winfield, Keeler and Maris. If I put O'Neill on CIN then he's tied with Reggie Sanders for the best right fielder in CIN franchise history (based on career JAWS).
In previous versions of this roster I put O'Neill on CIN and not NYY because he'll be in CIN MLB starting lineup but for NYY he's likely going to end up in AA.
