So I finished the 650k xp and now what? All the xp we gain after the inning just disappears?
-
I have been wondering this. It wouldn't happen and it would be nice if a % of XP shift into Stubs -- that's if XP isn't put into 2nd inning savings
-
Yeah kinda weird. It is like we are just wasting XP by playing that we could use for next inning. They really should have never taken away the XP reward path. That was an excellent thing they had going. Very odd that they changed that.

It was too beneficial for us

I bet you it's because it's tied to an expiry date, and they don't roll over. It encourages players who are especially dependent on NMS to log on and grind before they miss the deadline. The longer people are logging in and playing daily, the more likely they will continue to play the next release and continue to provide revenue.
I'm 100% convinced this is the reason.

I'm completely fine with this. I just hit 650k so honestly I'll barely play the next couple days before inning 2. It's the same with BR...first time around I hit my points and then didn't play it any more.
I understand their POV as well...stagger the rewards a bit. Last year guys were farming XP to get levels faster and there was no cap. Now you can't really exploit past too much.
I like it

I've seen quite a few posts lately from people who've hit 650k in the program. Pretty impressive for a game that's allegedly so unplayable that we all must demand compensation.

There's clearly an issue with the servers. I played like a madman the first while and have been knocking out all the missions I can. I definitely think a person who has limited time at night, when the servers are often down, has a legit gripe with the product since launch.

To be honest I prefer this years system (bar the expiry date). Much of what you got in the xp reward path was useless by the time you got to it. Even the 99s were shite.

Agree -- this method works better imo. Just finished the 650k myself last night.
No idea what will happen with XP -- I'm assuming its wasted. Might not be a bad time to just focus on getting that login, daily moment and doing a little gameplay and taking some time to play something else over the next few days.
However POTM drops tomorrow so there is that.

Yep Kluber was the only usable card past the 2nd month in the XP path last year. Inning programs this year will be stuffed full of packs and stubs you would have otherwise gotten in the XP path. It's a very welcome change over facing Kluber 300 times throughout the year. The expiration date is moot because you can buy the cards anyway off the market IMO. Some people seem to think them getting rid of the XP path means we are getting less in the long run, which is not true. It's just more spaced out so people that exploit XP don't get too far ahead
-
Reward path should continue well past 650k like it has at times in past. Every few levels should give you a few packs or unlock uniforms, etc. I played a bunch early on and have been finished with the collections and program for a week or so. If I had gotten credit for every game I’ve played and Double xp had worked the first week, I’d be sitting on about 900k xp. That’s what happens when your wife goes out of town for a few days right after a game releases.

I wouldnt be opposed to there just being like a 5 or 10 pack bundle every so often past 650k (like every 50k or so). Not something worth grinding for really but XP wont feel wasted. Theres a chance they can extend rewards on future innings based on how people progress here ( i think they did that last year where they added a bunch of extra stuff to inning 2 and beyond)

Yes it disappears. Just game out how it would work if you could bank it.
Let's say you finished 1st inning 2 weeks early and banked all XP from those 2 weeks for 2nd inning. So once 2nd inning drops you are 2 weeks into it instantly and end up finishing that inning 4 weeks early because of the head start. So 3rd inning drops and now you are 4 weeks in as soon as it opens. Eventually you'd have enough XP banked that once the inning dropped you'd have it maxed and just bank everything for the next inning.
The only way to combat that is either you don't earn XP once you max or just increase the max XP every inning to combat the banking. The second option is clearly the worst because it affects everyone not just the ppl that max. Madden is the same way. You don't earn XP once you max and start earning again once they add more levels.

I agree with you that that is how people see it but there was a lot more of use in the first inning program and if you factor in the daily moments program now there is plenty more. The expiry doesn’t affect me as I play through the year (or until I’ve had enough) but I feel the people coming in later not having access to previous content is a shame.

Inning programs have never extended past what the stated cutoff was. Throw the XP path out the window and just think this years XP=last years stars and it won't be an issue. In the past the 1st inning has always been the easiest to max out. I almost wish they just stuck with stars and threw XP out completely to avoid the obvious confusion that is happening

Yes. It will disappear. Not saying this is what you did; but alot of people are complaining that they hit the 650K already and now anything the play doesn't matter.
Well, if people would just play the game normally instead of using XP glitches; then they wouldn't have this problem.

Eh, thats not true. Last year you could make progress on previous innings, its just that you didn't get any progress for playing games....so all dailies and game-earned stars went to the current inning.
Conquest maps, Showdowns, collections, player program missions and online program missions (win 10 online games, etc) all still progressed throughout the year. The online ones even stacked so if you ignored ranked/online games for a while you could progress in several at once.

While that's true, most that are saying that expiration dates are a problem talk about completing the program(getting the boss). You couldn't do that without completing the collection of the previous 3 bosses last year, which was always more expensive than buying the boss you wanted outright. And who's to say their plan all along wasn't to include boss packs in the future inning programs anyway? They did say they were combining inning programs with the XP path. IMO it's just to early in the content cycle to get worked up over Lofton, Valenzuela, and Piazza
