Imagine being a new player...

Imagine having your first experience with MLB the Show, and facing cpu pitchers on rookie that throw dots and tons of offspeed out of the zone...

What the heck are you talking about dude.

I’m just putting myself in the place of someone playing the game for the first time. I think it would be pretty frustrating.

So what, the cpu should throw fastballs right down the middle just soft enough to let them marsh every pitch? Maybe they should just intentionally walk everybody to avoid hurting anyone’s feelings. Similarly, I think enemies in Call of Duty should just point their weapons and new guys and yell “Pew, pew, pew!” Instead of actually shooting at them. After all, everything should be simple, right?

Have some perspective. Any new player is gonna have a tough time starting out with the way the CPU pitches. That’s all OP was saying

Why would it?, isn't rookie level pitchers suppose to give you meat balls to rake with?. Are you assuming first timers of The Show are incapable of hitting the ball?. Just because you think it would be difficult doesn't mean others will find it that way. Even when I started playing The Show back in 2011 I started off at All Star, now when I get the game every year before I even see a pitch I set my Hitting and Pitching to Legend and max out pitch speeds. Here's my technique to prevent noobs and casuals, put everything to the hardest level..max everything out then practice and practice and If you can't handle it then change to HOF or reduce pitch speeds.....that's my Top Down strategy instead of Down Up :). I will be at the Ramada at the Airport this weekend for training of my Top Down strategy, with my help you can be a Legend lol. Thanks, I'll be here all week

I just don’t see it. Sure, I’ve played the show for years, but I do not think that rookie is some insurmountable challenge for a new player. One or two pitches may be on the corner, but there’s plenty that are far outside, far inside, and right down the middle. No one is going to get better if they don’t learn to take pitches.

Thanks Mitch.
Wow, I was not expecting this post to touch such a nerve.
I was just reflecting back to how the game was around 16 when the cpu DID throw lots of meatballs, as compared to now.
I’m fine with working the count to get a good pitch to hit, since nobody is throwing me meatballs in ranked, but yeah.
