Curveballs Using Analog Pitching
-
I realize there are some issues where pitches, especially breaking balls and change ups just hang for no reason. With that in mind, I have generally struggled with getting curveballs to not stay up for as long as I've played The Show. I've never had issues with sliders, slurves, or sweeping curves, only 12-6 and normal curveballs. I've tried making my movements a normal speed, fast, or even slower going down to up, but I almost always leave the pitch up. Even when it shows my result is perfect as far as hitting the line for release and location in the circle. I've always been a much better pitcher than hitter and I also think I understand approaches to pitching from a real life standpoint. Does anyone else just struggle throwing curveballs or is it just me? Anyone who loves using the pitch and finds they have no issue executing using analog controls, I'd love to hear some feedback on what you do that keeps you from hanging more of them. Thanks everyone!

Does everyone have this same issue throwing curves or just me? Would seriously love to hear from people who utilize that pitch really well and don't have issues throwing it.

For curve balls, try aligning the pitch meter to go slightly below the bottom of the strike zone. This seems to put the peak height of the curve ball at the center of the strike zone. I find any pitch left over the middle of the plate gets blasted.

Yeah, that makes sense. I regularly place the location, pre-pitch, below the zone, but regardless of where I seem to hit the release point, it is always up. The only thing I can make happen consistently with a curve is it be a dirt ball. That is a pretty useless pitch though since it looks like a ball out of the hand. My left to right placement isn't too bad either, it's just not getting them to hang up. It should be such an effect pitch, but I'm so inconsistent that I rarely throw it and that eliminates a lot of pitches and pitchers with their repertoire.

I also have a hard time with them. I’m not really trying to throw them for a strike much, but just to change the look to the hitter.
