Crossplay isn't working!!

I own the XBOX SERIES X along with the $69.99 series X standard edition. I've ve tried to play custom league games vs friends on Playstation 4 and 5 multiple times now but NO LUCK. Usually stays in the "waiting for opponent" screen for both myself and opponent. Oddly, when I tried playing the xbox one version, it sure connects. Now that has me wonderong, is crossplay available for all versions of the game or not? It's driving me insane and I need some answers. Thanks in advance

Yep, other then on day 1 early launch, i havent played a PS user since. Im on Xbox series S
