I’m not sure first inning showdown is even worth the 35k xp for the aggravation.

I finally beat this on the 4th try, walk off HR. As I'm loading back in - server error. Didn't count the win, when I tried to resume it said I didn't finish the game so it counted as a loss.

    Back to square one

Same thing just happened to me. Bunch of BS. I'm done until they make this game playable.

I don't know man, I went into the final boss 15-15. Just finished NL Central TA and NL West TA to 100%, haven't lost a single moment in any of them.

Just keep practicing, hopefully it gets easier. They shouldn't make showdown easier, it's as easy as it can get IMO.

I’m about .500 on the TA showdowns. I thought they were fair.

This did not seem fair. I know when I do things to screw up and suck but I was patient, didn’t swing at junk mostly, and still hit everything at someone. Add to it the dissapearing baserunner and it is totally garbage.

I don’t mind losing. I don’t like feeling cheated like I did here.

You didn't have a disappearing base runner. You just kept hitting over low balls (double plays), and under fast balls (fly outs). Work on PCI placement and you'll be good.

The disappearing base runner "glitch" happens when your base runner comes up to bat the next time. IDK if it's intentional or not but good players won't run into that problem

Well it didn’t happen last year. And yes, it’s a glitch.

Right, other people have had that issue, but you didn't. You would have mentioned it in your OP if that had happened. Your issue is swinging at bad pitches and PCI placement. It's on Rookie....you can do this.

Serious question, did you read my post? I mentioned it in the second paragraph.

    Or are you just trolling?

Not trolling, you edited your post after the fact. Like I said above, I'm sorry if that happened. I've played 40-50 showdowns and haven't had that issue. So either it's extremely rare, or I'm extremely lucky.

    You’re a liar, I didn’t edit anything.

    I also posted a video,

my man, this forum might not be the best place for you.

Hint: If someone holds their mouse over the pencil at the top of your post, it says "edited 14 hours ago".

So, either tell the truth, or find another place to vent. Folks around here are pretty savvy.

    Lol.

I had a ton of trouble with the showdowns last year. So far this year, I'm having very good luck with the TA showdowns. For this one, I failed my first attempt, but I had an awful draft and I wasn't being patient.

I don't personally find it funny that you accused me of lying, then laugh when it's shown that you lied.

I do see what's happening with base runners now. You got a guy on base, you got EIGHT outs without moving him around, and he came up to bat again.

If you can't get a guy home with EIGHT outs, what do you expect them to do? Skip that batter in the order?

This is why most of us have never had this issue. Keep practicing, you'll get there in time.

I always wondered what the game would do if that situation occurred...

But to the OP, I feel your pain. I CANNOT avoid double plays in there. And they’re such killers.

Hit and run, Fernando easy to steal off of. avoid those double plays

Oh I beat these easily, I’m just commiserating with OP

@locutusofburg said in I’m not sure first inning showdown is even worth the 35k xp for the aggravation.:

I just did it, went in 15-13, and lost. I got 3 hits, walked 3 times, and grounded into 3 dps. I only struck out twice and everything else I hit went right at someone.

Valenzuela didn’t go under 50% stamina till 80+ pitches so it’s obviously jacked up there. My last 3 outs were all 100+ exit velo right at someone and to top it off I had the tying run disappear off third base with 8 outs left, which moved the IF back which led to a dp. I always took till two strikes.

Just wonderful. I know some of it is me sucking but the amount of DPs you hit into in moments in general is really something that does not at all feel natural.

I do t think I’ll be trying it again.

dude its simple as waking up - just gotta be calm and focus, this year has never been easier - its on rookie or veteran settings.....

best of luck with it, ive probably done around 15 by now at least - 14/15 attempts (one time lost on the mid boss herrera lol)

ps. stack your perks with exit velocity boost and cram your big hitters doesnt matter if they are out of position on the field

I did the first inning showdown, first inning conquest, and like 8-9 of the team affinity showdowns all Saturday. If anything they should have more mini bosses like last year.

Do we get more xp towards inning program if we beat the showdown more then. Once or is it a one time deal.

I'm fairly certain he's under the age of 14. Just let him be. I tried discussing this with him, he lied, changed his posts, and called me names. Not worth it 🙂

You do realize that if you need EIGHT outs to advance a runner, you don't deserve that runner? Bunt, fly balls, steal, this isn't hard.

So who bats? It’s just an extra spot now in the lineup? If so no wonder this game glitches out every chance it gets.

Also does that mean I can pinch run for anybody at any time and my hitter will still be the same next time through?

Correct, he doesn't. Most of us don't need EIGHT outs to advance a runner to home. We don't know the mechanic, because we've never struggled that bad. In baseball, you get 3 outs to do it. I can't believe the crying LOL. At least it's no longer about servers here. You sir will be a legend talked about for years to come. Congrats.
