I’m not sure first inning showdown is even worth the 35k xp for the aggravation.

I just did it, went in 15-13, and lost. I got 3 hits, walked 3 times, and grounded into 3 dps. I only struck out twice and everything else I hit went right at someone.

Valenzuela didn’t go under 50% stamina till 80+ pitches so it’s obviously jacked up there. My last 3 outs were all 100+ exit velo right at someone and to top it off I had the tying run disappear off third base with 8 outs left, which moved the IF back which led to a dp. I always took till two strikes.

Just wonderful. I know some of it is me sucking but the amount of DPs you hit into in moments in general is really something that does not at all feel natural.

I do t think I’ll be trying it again.

    Be patient

Don't go chasing pitches look one spot I find if you track pitches you end up beating alot into the ground

Yea I don’t like hitting against that card. Plus I have to shut down the app and restart after every single game lol. I also had dudes disappear off base. Lol this game has issues.

I’ll just get my xp elsewhere.

I don't know man, I went into the final boss 15-15. Just finished NL Central TA and NL West TA to 100%, haven't lost a single moment in any of them.

Just keep practicing, hopefully it gets easier. They shouldn't make showdown easier, it's as easy as it can get IMO.

I’m about .500 on the TA showdowns. I thought they were fair.

This did not seem fair. I know when I do things to screw up and suck but I was patient, didn’t swing at junk mostly, and still hit everything at someone. Add to it the dissapearing baserunner and it is totally garbage.

I don’t mind losing. I don’t like feeling cheated like I did here.

    Edit.

You didn't have a disappearing base runner. You just kept hitting over low balls (double plays), and under fast balls (fly outs). Work on PCI placement and you'll be good.

This was the easiest showdown ever. The bar is incredibly low, the missions can be knocked out in a couple of pitches, and they’re all on rookie / veteran. Just try again.

I had a guy that was on third base disappear. It is a known issue.

This isnt me but shows the glitch, but tell me it doesn’t happen.

The disappearing base runner "glitch" happens when your base runner comes up to bat the next time. IDK if it's intentional or not but good players won't run into that problem

Showdown is easier they said. A lot more fun than last year they said. And it was until first Showdown against Shane Greene. Worked the count, got into his confidence, tied the score with 8 outs left. No problem. And then he starts throwing the most ridiculous, frisbee bs and I can’t even touch him the rest of the game and I lose. I know, I know.....I suck, everyone else is great. But the way the bs kicked in as soon as I tied the score makes me think this is not the game mode for me still.

While it’s true that Valenzuela is tough if his confidence gets up, this showdown was still, by far, among the easiest yet. I have a terrible record in showdowns and still got it first try.

I know that is not what you want to hear, but just try to relax as you play as best you can. There are a lot of “how to beat showdown easily every time” videos out there, and I would advise you to take them with a grain of salt.

The thing to remember is it gets harder as the pitcher’s confidence goes up, so if you get a couple big hits early, it will help with that a lot and you’ll get more good pitches to hit and obvious balls.

Valenzuela still threw some dots with zero confidence and little energy when I faced him, so trying to wear him out might not be the best approach.

Right, other people have had that issue, but you didn't. You would have mentioned it in your OP if that had happened. Your issue is swinging at bad pitches and PCI placement. It's on Rookie....you can do this.

Edit: I see you edited your OP to include this. OK, so maybe it happened, maybe not? I've played 40 or 50 of them, never had that issue.

Not trolling, you edited your post after the fact. Like I said above, I'm sorry if that happened. I've played 40-50 showdowns and haven't had that issue. So either it's extremely rare, or I'm extremely lucky.

I'm always surprised that people have hard times with these showdowns. I screwed up on the minor missions, went in down 15-9 and was finished with 13 outs to go. I'm not a good player, so it just surprises me that so many say they struggle on these, when I haven't had any issues since they nerfed showdowns from All Star.

I drafted right handed power hitters and switch hitters, knowing that Valenzuela was the final boss. I always draft exit velocity perks and stack them. This time I had the "lucky 7" perk to go with them. You can sit low, and wait on that change up and screwball. Steal only after you have a 2 ball or 2 strike count. Pinch run for the last run needed, get speed in for slower runners, start runners or hit and run in those counts too. I do that to stay out of double plays as much as possible. That's how I approach showdown.
