Do you feel that some games are scripted?

I beat a guy with a 27-2 record & followed it up by beating a guy with a 19-1 record...Then I play a guy who is 27-30 and got mercy ruled...In that game literally nothing went my way. Everything the guy touched went through a hole or left the stadium & on defense my infielders uncharacteristically got ate up by grounders & committed 5 errors. It was the most bizarre game ever & just felt like it was determined before the first pitch was thrown that I was going to lose. Has anyone else experienced this?

I only play offline, but it seems some games in conquest the computer will just decide they wont give you hits and everything is right at people, lol. Especially if you need x amount of hits with a player.

It feels that way right now but once you start stacking high diamonds in your line up it gets a lot easier. Personally I dont mind the better AI, I used to roll through conquest on “speed run” mode and then be bored waiting for the next map. This year thats not the case, plus with the parallels you want to play as many games as you can, if those games are a bit sweatier and more difficult the better IMO.

It's tough to script a baseball game. I mean, you still have to make pitches and hit the ball to succeed.

This idea has been around for years now and while script probably isn’t the right word it sure seems that the game will do things sometimes to try to push outcomes a certain way. For example in moments and offline play suddenly your great pitcher won’t be able to throw strikes unless it’s right down the middle of the plate which the computer will then promptly mash 500 feet with a 30 power hitter. Or suddenly all of your hits are directly at the defense no matter what you do. They are subtle but if you play enough you will definitely notice patterns.

Saw something similar yesterday - at 14-5 and playing a team 11-10; all hitters are super hot with a great approach at the plate up and down the lineup; and yet, sure enough, only 4 freaking hits and even got screwed with 2 errors and lost 6-1. Unbelievable that this could happen.

I pretty much know when games are going to turn in the other teams favor offline against the CPU.
Opposing hitters with bad hitting attributes start fouling everything off, no matter where I place it.
My infielders with diamond defense can't get to anything all of a sudden.
And the worst is....the first baseman can't hold the bag.

Idk if this would apply but I lost my first online game of the year last night and it was so weird. He had like 6 or so out of 8 really good power hitters at shippet. I gave up zero home runs to those guys and struck out 14 in 6 innings. But Roberto alomar and wade boggs (both under 65 power) hit two home runs

Don’t know about scripts, but 1B is where you put your best defender in baseball now; used to be up the middle. I guess things change and Luke Voit is the golden standard now

I still use babe Ruth at first. He’ll stay there all year til he gets a 99ovr then get replaced

It’s unavoidable. Every year, couple posts about when they win, it’s all them. If they lose, it’s scripted. It’s quite hilarious

Not scripted. Just AI controlled outcomes. Typically your controller input is utilized somewhat but, depending on whatever algorithm the developers coded, the software then produces animation that generally appears realistic.
Often, though, it does not. Especially in the Boss Showdowns. That is nothing more than a slot machine outcome.
It can still be fun. Just have to suspend your disbelief sometimes.

Its not necessarily about a script but the game does throw logic away at times and tried overly much to even the game out. I played the moment just now where you have to beat the Dodgers with the Padres in a 3 inning game. I took an early 4-0 lead into the bottom of the 3rd and all of a sudden the game fell apart. Fielders missed the ball, pitcher wouldnt locate (brand new out of the pen) and they came back to tie the game 4-4 with 2 outs. I ended up winning in the 4th 6-4. But the game does this alot.

Although I agree OP, MLB the RNG is sooooo 2020, network errors and unhandled server exceptions are the flavah this year
