Showdown erasing runners

When playing Showdown, if a player is on base when it is his turn to bat, the baserunner simply disappears with no substitution. In past years, another player (I believe the last out) took the baserunner's base when he is at the plate. I know I shouldn't be so bad as to not be able to score a guy through a complete batting order but I need those precious runs!
