Loving Showdown Concept

I'm seeing a ton of threads about people having so much difficulty with Showdown and I honestly don't understand why they find it so difficult.
Would I be wrong to think that there are just as many people out there like me who are genuinely enjoying the mode and concept and are happy with the medium but not too difficult level of difficulty?
-
I l9ve the showdown option, but the entry fee for the reward isn't exactly great.
-
I’m with you man. I’ve ran into some good/squared hits that line out in the final showdown and it can be annoying so I see where the rants come from but it’s way better than moments. It also lets you take time and build a squad or just take a run if you’re really good at hitting. Certainly beats exchanges, you can test players. If you take it one mission at a time you get decent XP and coins compared to other modes.

I’m doing Marthews moments, and I hate it. Mu first rage of the year; loving Showdown so far, barely failed 1st inning one, on my second run and started better. You get nice rewards along the way too

The showdown mode is awful. Makes the moments look like a stroke of genius, and I hate moments.

I am enjoying all of the game features. Showdown was tough for the 1st Inning challenge and it took me a few times but I enjoyed it and will be back for more.

The idea of showdown is great. The idea of getting to the end and having to pay to do it all over again is just a lazy barrier. A good compromise would be keeping the pay to restart, but having checkpoints at each miniboss
I like this, when fail the red you repay the entry fee and then get an option keep team and progress or redraft and start over.

for sure.

I like the concept but apparently I’m no where good enough to complete it. Breezes through the starter showdown and haven’t even come close to beating the first inning showdown in probably 10+ attempts. Seems to be great for players that can beat it easily, and horrible for folks like me that just aren’t good enough

I'm loving the Showdown as well. Need some skills. Alot of people not liking it I bet are cheesy players..Last year all I heard was skill should be rewarded..Not a delay in hitting swing and ball is fouled over or very late and kill into death with Gwynn or Ichiro. Nothing in life is perfect my Nationers, especially video games..This game is pretty [censored] close..I know everyone knows how other games play and alot of the fckin crazy things that go down. This pales in comparison. I think some forget that failing at the plate 75 times out of 100 will get you a .350 BA and the batting title..Some of you guys are delusional. That or you want a MLB Jam or something.

After 27919 attempts, I Finally beat the 1st Inning Showdown. It was rough. Lol but I like it.

Showdown IS just Moments. You guys fail to recognize that all you are doing are moments? But you get to pay to do them and can lose money in the process. I HATE Showdown. It is just Moments with 1 shot at completing each moment.
-
I wanted Moments gone. Showdown is just Moments on steroids. If you love doing Moments I suppose you like Showdown as well.

This would help. Starting all over again is not fun.

I hope there was some sarcasm here.

I don’t mind showdown. I like the concept.
Paying to enter kind of bothers me. I know if you finish it’s worth it, but if you get bounced early it’s kind of lame. And your basically making some pay in-game for a new feature of the game; seems an odd approach.
It is a bit tougher than I would expect and the all-or-nothing part of it (when you’re spending stubs) can suck. Sometimes you just have a bad game.
-
I’ve noticed that the missions change a bit too every time you go through, so the experience can be different from person to person and each run you do. Means you can’t quite just run through one time, see how you need to draft and then do it again.
That said, has anyone experienced any where you need more than your No. 1 starter and closer? Maybe you need 2-3 decent bullpen arms. I don’t want to necessarily broadcast this becuase SDS would probably change it, but I don’t see a need for anything more than one good starting pitcher. Anyone else have any strategies?
Also, how many times can you lose in a single run before having to start over?

I’d settle for more than 1 pitch out of four in the strike zone on rookie difficulty. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good practice for RS, but I’m not playing the cpu on rookie because I want to take pitches, yknow?
